How do you remove and replace the latch-hook assy from the cover of an Inspiron E1705. I don't seem to be able to remove the broken slide. I am not twisting or bending the right way to remove. Conversly, how do you insert the new assy. I already have the screen out of the cover.

My model number ogcmdm 11s2-10 how to replace broken door latch hook key P6OD17L-D1

It appears there might be a mix of information in the provided details. However, based on what you've mentioned, it seems you're dealing with a broken door latch hook key on a device with the model number "ogcmdm 11s2-10." Unfortunately, the information provided doesn't align with known model formats or specific products, and I might not have detailed information about this particular model or device.
Given that, here are some general steps you can follow when dealing with a broken door latch or lock:
  1. Identification of the Latch or Lock:
    • Identify the type of latch or lock system used on your device. It could be a simple spring latch, deadbolt, or a more complex mechanism.
  2. Obtain Replacement Parts:
    • If the latch hook key is broken, you may need to obtain a replacement part. Contact the manufacturer or a supplier to inquire about replacement latch hook keys or the entire lock assembly if necessary.
  3. Accessing the Broken Part:
    • Depending on the design of your device, you may need to disassemble or remove certain components to access the broken latch or lock. Refer to the device's user manual or any available documentation for guidance.
  4. Remove Broken Parts:
    • Once you have access to the broken latch or lock, carefully remove the broken parts. This may involve unscrewing screws, removing panels, or disassembling components.
  5. Install Replacement Parts:
    • Install the replacement latch hook key or lock components following the manufacturer's instructions. Ensure that the new parts are compatible with your device.
  6. Test Operation:
    • After replacing the broken latch or lock parts, test the operation to ensure that the door can be securely locked and unlocked.
  7. Reassemble:
    • If you had to disassemble any components to access the broken part, reassemble the device according to the manufacturer's instructions.
If you encounter difficulties during the process or if you are unsure about how to proceed, it's advisable to contact the manufacturer's customer support for specific guidance or consider consulting with a professional technician.
Please note that the general steps provided may not cover all possible scenarios, and the actual process might vary based on the specific design of your device.

GMC Sierra 1500 Glove box latch is broken and will not open

Unfortunately, you cannot just by the latch assy from the dealer. They only carry the complete glove box assy. (cost $285). The best fix if you are near a truck salvage yard is to get one from a wrecked vehicle. I just fixed mine for $32.00 including tax. To remove the glove box, you will need to remove 3ea 7mm screws that hold the hinge to the dash. And there are 2ea alum pop rivets that you will need to drill out (I used a 3/8 drill bit). Then slide the assy to the left to free the tab on the right side. Reverse procedure to install.

The 2 hooks(latch) inside the door have lost spring tension.

For no apparent reason, the latch broke on the 9187 ST. Take the door off of the microwave, which isn't too hard. Rotate the door to 90 degrees, lift up, and slide it to the left. Place the door on the counter, latch side up. Use a thin knife or screwdriver to lift the panel that covers the latch. It is very easy to remove it from the door. Then slide the latch up and lift is out. The spring is under the latch. The clip on the latch that held the spring was fractured. So, I drilled a tiny hole in the body piece from where the clip extended. I reattached the spring to the latch, replaced the panel, replaced the door, and it is as good as new.

I have a Panasonic Model #NN-S255 microwave oven. The button you push to open the door does not open the door. It's like there is no resistance when you push the button therefore it does not push up...

Hello,To get the door open and salvage your dinner, take a long thin blade ( I used a frosting spreader) and insert from the bottom between the door and the oven frame on the side with the latches (usually next to the control panel). You may have to pry the bottom of the door open just a bit. The object is to push up the lower door latch (which is connected to the upper door latch) and manually open the door. You may have to try a few times but this worked perfectly for me and saved dinner. Obviously the door latch needs to be repaired but this solves the immediate problem of dinner being held hostage by a recalcitrant microwave.
wish you good luck,
take care.

My e1705 dell inspiron, flashes the caps lock muliple times upon turning off and the screen doesnt turn on, I was told that reseting the memory would help. my question...how do i reset the memory?

Hi there!
The memory is located at the bottom of the laptop in the middle, so flip the laptop over, locate the memory, it has a cover you'll need a screw driver and you will be taking out 2 screws, after you have taken out the screws, slide the memory cover and remove it, then you will see the memory, there will be a retaining clip holding the memory it should be in each side of the memory, after that pull the memory up to 45 degrees angle, lift the memory then pull the memory from the connector, If you have 2 memories just do the same process.
Hope this helps!

Battery release latch locked in open -hp pavilion dv4 1313dx

The same thing happened to my HP laptop. The sliding lock mechanism relies on three little hooks to hold the battery in place. What had happened to mine was that one of the hooks (the one nearest to the switch) had gotten stuck (this is quite difficult to explain, but just examine the three little hooks closely and you'll notice it the difference.) I freed it simply by pushing it with my thumb to unsnag it. The battery is now securely back in place, where it will stay!

2003 Ford Explorer back door latch will not open

Mine just did the exact same thing. The latch may be moving freely because it is not hooked to the latching mechanism anymore. In my case, the handle had broken where the handle hooks to the rod that operates the mechanism. Go to the Ford dealer and buy a new handle. Here in S.C. it was $24. You can't get this at the parts houses. Start by removing the plastic "Ford" cover that is over the liscense plate lights. You then have to remove the aluminum rivets that hold the handle to the tailgate from the outside and remove the broken latch. Remove the pull handle loop on the interior side of the tailgate (2 screws), unsnap the inside plastic tailgate interior panel, and pull down the black plastic sheeting that is underneath the panel to make access to the mechanism inside of the tailgate. There is also a hard plastic cover that you will see that needs to be pulled loose to open another access hole. Install the new tailgate latch handle by sliding back into the mounting holes and attach with two 10-32 screws and nuts. The new handle will come with a new yellow rod attachment piece on the handle. You will see inside of the tailgate a small rod hanging down, most likeky it will have the same rod attachment piece as the one on the new handle. Note the position of the yellow piece on the rod, as you will connect the new piece in the same place. Once the rod is hooked up, relubricate the metal mechanism with a light machine oil, replace the black plastic cover, replace the black plastic sheeting, (secure with a small amount of duct tape), replace the tailgate interior panel, replace the pull handle loop, shut tailgate, replace "Ford" cover over lights, and you're done!

Door latches will not close onmy Panasonic Dimensions 4 Microwave NNCT766MBPQ.They appear loose as if a spring has broken.

If you gently push up on the door latches (hook-like devices on the door) there should be spring tension. If they just flop right up, the spring is off.

Normally the problem is not the spring, but a broken spring mounting tab on the door latch head (hook) assembly or the inner door panel.

If it's the door panel, it's usually easier and cheaper to use epoxy and some kind of hardware to fashion a new spring mount.

The door latch head (hook) is easy to replace or repair if that's the issue.

We have critical safety & disassembly info at our site, linked here.

Normally you have to separate the door panels (as shown in the attached photo) and then you'll see the screws you need to remove.

Or you can watch a YouTube video (not a video I made) here that demonstrates how it's done.

The best place to order Panasonic parts is Tritronics. You can also call them at 866-779-5835.
