You cannot create new folders on an SD card and copy images to them, as the camera will not recognise them, since they were not create in the camera. Copy the entire contents of the card to a folder on your HDD, then format the card in the camera.

Sorry to say, but . . . No!

Cnet Reviews shows the specifications on your camera.
2167fde.jpg It only goes so far as SD memory, which is limited to 2GB.
It's a hurdle technology manufacturers had to jump, and now consumers must jump also.

The P3 works with SD cards, not SDHC cards. While SDHC cards will fit into the slot, they are electronically incompatible and won't work. You need to go with SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

I would try to insert it in your PC and then format the card. Then reinsert in your camera and

SOURCE: Nikon coolpix S3000 won't take a picture when the

Assuming you have new batteries and the camera lens cover is opening when turned on. Try switching to any mode other than automatic, turn off the flash, and press the shutter button. Many cameras have a safety feature that prevents the flash capacitor from charging if the case is opened. This is to lessen the chance of electric shock. They usually use one or two of the screws along the perimeter of the camera to complete a circuit that lets the processor know that the case is closed. Verify that all the screws are in place along the perimeter of your camera, and that there are no gaps along the perimeter seams. If you're missing a screw, try using one of the others to replace it.
If they're all there, next thing to check is the batteries. The brand that you're using may have reached its shelf life, or just may not have sufficient power to charge the flash capacitor. Try a better brand, or better yet rechargeable NiMH batteries.
If the above didn't help, then the flash tube or its circuit is probably at fault. In this case, would then recommend professional repair. This repair is somewhat difficult, requires some soldering, has some danger of electrical shock, and goes beyond what I'd like to describe here

How do I download pics from camera to laptop, there was no software in Coolpix L330 bundle?

Often, if you simply connect the camera to your computer by the appropriately connectored USB cable (the camera is likely to have a mini connector; there may be one with the camera) the computer will recognize the camera, and ask if you want to download pictures using the windows wizard that exists for the purpose. You may need to be connected to the internet if you want your computer to search the internet for installation/or appropriate software.

When i plug my nikon coolpix s3000 into the computer it registers the camera but it wont retrieve the pictures. it say the computer cant detect it. HELP

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive. Or you can use Nikon Transfer or any other photo cataloging program.

I want to upload my pics from my Coolpix L110 camera to my macbook pro. I've downloaded the Nikon transfer and View NX software suite but when I connect the camera via USB chord my computer doesn't detect...

Pros avoid this problem by using a card reader and downloading to a folder they create on their desktop. From there, the pics can be imported to the program of your choice.

Hi i have Nikon coolpix s3000 and im not able to transfer pics to my PC. Unable to know when my camera is on after attaching USB

Try connecting the cable to the Coolpix and then turn on the camera before plugging the USB cable into the computer.
Another way to transfer photos to the computer.
Remove the memory card from the Coolpix and insert the memory card into a USB memory card reader then connect it to the USB port on the computer. The computer will see this as an external storage device, you can then open the folder/s and copy the photos from the memory card to the computer.

My nikon coolpix s3000 wont download pictures to my computer

Hi

I used to have a very similar problem with mien, I couldn't download the pics from the camera. The problem was in the camera that the computer didn't recognize it.

The solution that worked for me was the following.
I bought a card reader ( a cheap one cost around 10$ US)
when I used the card reader
with the camera card I could access the pics without any problem and transfer them as easy as earlier.
if you find a solution to the problem please post it here
Thanks

Nikon coolpix sd cards read empty in any computer but when in the camera i can see all the pics and sd card reds almost full

This happened to me before with a Nikon Coolpix camera as well. this is due to a virus obtained by the memory card when I inserted it to a friend's computer. What I did was I typed in the direct path of the pictures folder into the address bar, say if you are using a memory card reader and says F: as the drive for your device, you can try to go directly into the pictures folder by typing in F:DCIM and press enter. Once you are able to access your pictures folder copy them all into your computer and format the memory card after using your camera and you are ready to go. Hope this one works for you.

I am trying to download pics from my Nikon coolpx to my IMac but iphoto does not recognize the camera - what do I need to do?

First, make sure that the Computer recognizes the Camera when connected to it using the USB cable.

When the computer recognizes the connected camera then a "No name" drive appears on the Desktop of the computer.

If the Computer is recognizing the Camera but iPhoto then follow the steps given below to transfer images from the Camera to the Computer:

Double-click the "No name" removable drive on the Desktop to view and navigate through the folders and files on the Camera.

You can see several folders, you may either navigate through each folder to locate the folder that contains the pictures or double click the "DCIM" folder to view all the images.
Next, copy all the desired images then paste them on the Hard Drive of the Computer.
