I have had this happen several times and I'd like to know why it happens. But that aside, I remove my sim card and then put it back it and it is fixed when I open the phone back up. It's like rebooting a PC.

you can go online and seek out a Subsidy Unlock site.
To obtain the IMEI number press *#06# on your mobile device.

call your carrier. (at&t, verizon etc.) give them your imei number. you can find it under your phone battery on a sticker. it is 15 numbers long. call your carrier and give this code to a mobile customer care representative and they should give you a 8 digit subsidy unlock code. Then once you get your subsidy code power your phone off take the battery out along with the sim card, replace the battery but leave the sim card out and power the phone back on, then when it gets to the menu screen punch in #7465625*638* and after that last star put in the 8 digit subsidy code your carrier gave you and your phone should say network lock deactivated. hope this helps.
