Sync Outlook 2000 with 2 user accounts, 2 PDA, in XP

I share a desktop with my wife, I have a different Windows XP (Home Ed) user account than her's, both accounts have full rights. She uses a Zire 21 and synchronises with Outlook 2000 using Chapura Pocket Mirror Standard Edition, 3.1.6.0 and I do the same with my Palm III. We do not share our pst files in Outlooks. Everything is working fine. I am planning to buy new Tungsten E2 to replace my Palm III. Can I use the new Palm conduits on my side and keep the Chapura conduits for my wife ?

Administrator password to login not working

Microsoft's latest operating system, Windows 7, and its predecessor, Vista, offer a new layer of security that is different from previous releases, such as XP or 2000.
The earlier Windows versions treated all users as system administrators by default. With Windows Vista and 7, all accounts are treated as limited users.
The User Account Control utility provides elevated permissions when required and prompts users for those permissions.
You can control UAC behavior in Windows 7 so it does not prompt you for these permissions.
Start your computer with Windows 7 and log in as you normally would. Your desktop should appear, and any background applications should be closed.
Click the Windows "Start" orb at the lower left corner of your screen.
Click your account picture at the top right of the menu.
You will be presented with a window that allows you to make changes to your user account.
Click the link that says "Change User Account Control Settings."

Look for the User Account Control options slider.
The default option of User Account Control is to notify you only when programs try to make changes to your computer or you install new programs.
The option directly below that does the same thing but does not dim your desktop.
The "Never Notify" option at the bottom of the list eliminates the prompts for permissions.
Move the slider to the bottom of the options window.
Click "OK."
You may be prompted one last time from User Account Control to confirm your settings and reboot your computer.
or
Log in as an Administrator on Windows 7
If you've recently upgraded from Windows XP to Windows 7, you're probably wondering how to log in as an administrator. In Windows XP, the administrator account was clearly visible from the log-on page, but it's no longer there in Windows 7.

Although there is an administrator account, it must first be enabled with the Windows command prompt before you're able to use it. Enabling the administrator account lets you troubleshoot problems with programs on your computer.

Click on the "Start" button, and then type "command" into the search bar.
Right-click "Command Prompt" when the results appear.
Click "Run as Administrator."
The command prompt opens.

Type "net user administrator /active:yes," excluding the quotation marks.
Hit "Enter."
Click "Start," and then click "Switch User." Click the "Administrator" icon to log in.

When i send an email, people receive from a different email

Not so weird.
Imagine you are using Microsoft Outlook on one computer. To use Outlook to send and receive e-mail you must give it an E-mail address. Image that you and your wife use a single user account on the computer. For the computer there is only one user. Then you configure Outlook by creating an account (you must supply your e-mail address.) Someday or other your wife wants to use Outlook to receive and send E-mail. She must add a second account to Outlook.
I have no idea what you do not to read each other's email but when you want to send an E-mail Outlook has too use one of the two accounts (the outgoing mail server of one of the two addresses) to send the E-mail. Apparently your wife's account is the default one and all outgoing messages go through it. Before you press the send button, open the account list and select the one to use for sending.

On the following screen capture see the arrowhead. Open that menu. You will see all the accounts managed by Outlook listed there. One of them is marked as the default one.
You may not be using Outlook but that should not matter, Your E-mail client may behave similarly.

How do i sync my htc hd7 phone (windows mobile) with outlook xp

I have Outlook 2010 client on my PC. My ISP mail account is forwarded to Outlook via POP3 mail account. I also have a gmail account to which I forward all mail to from my ISP mail address. My gmail calendar is bi-directionally synchronised to my Outlook calendar using 'Google Calendar Sync' and likewise my gmail contacts are bi-directionally synchronised to my Outlook contacts using 'Go Contact Sync'. then it was a simple matter on my Windows Phone 7 to create a Google mail account to my gmail account. I can create contacts, calendar entries in either Outlook, Gmail or my phone and they are all sync'd with each other. 'Google Calendar Sync' and 'Go Contact Sync'' are free downloads.

How to sync palm data with Itouch? I have all my contacts & calendar on my Palm Zire. How can I get the same data over to my I touch in a Windows XP environment ?

You can sync to Outlook on the PC and then get the Outlook data onto the iTouch. If you have a newer PDA, It's install CD has a Sync options menu item where you can switch between Palm Desktop and Outlook. If you no longer have the original install CD or have an older device Pocket, Copy from Chapura.com It will move the Palm Desktop records to Outlook.

Firefox on the Mac

Even though the download says "allows all users" your wife's user account is completely separate from yours. You will have to download Firefox in your wife's account.

Outlook calendar will not synch to handheld

Here are two resource pages which hopefully will help. The first is Palm support page with an update to download for users of Outlook 2003. The second is a discussion thread of Treo users troubleshooting the same problem. Even if the PDA is different, the issue (and error code) is practically the same, Rather than cut and paste what I think is relevant, read the thread and see if one of the solutions listed helps you.

PS - What PDA, operating systems (PC and PDA) and version of Outlook are you using?

Tungsten E and Outlook 2003 sync problem

yes I moved my files to a new machine and reinstalled palm (which of course also created the dreaded multiple copies of many palm contacts, when palm discovered older archives, but that is another story!) I wouldn't mind that if the palm pilot would just sync with outlook 2003. It synched with Outlook 2000 on my old machine.

How do I coordinate different user profiles on 2 pcs?

You will have to keep the profiles the same. In Palm Desktop, under Tools/Users, you will need to reset the name on both of the computers to match the name used on the PDA.

When you start syncing to two computers, the Windows conduit will start to complain. Just tell it that you know, and clean up the mess by yourself.

Which is only one of the reasons I don't use Outlook at home. Palm Desktop can remove the errors created by Outlook, but Outlook can't.
