Shutterlag S70? Hi. Someone told me that the shutterlag of S70 is 1.65 seconds. sounds very very long to me.... Can someone that have a S70 verify the time? is it realy so long? //Bj?rn

All autofocus/autoexposure cameras will have some delay if the shutter is simply pressed fully before the focus and exposure are locked. The amount of time this takes has little to do with the camera and a lot to do with the conditions under which you are shooting. A camera may take much longer to lock focus in a low light situation than when there is a lot of light. Some cameras adjust focus continually and so there is a good chance that they will lock on faster than others but all cameras will have certain situations when they are puzzled and take a long time to complete the picture. The problem can be solved in a couple of ways. 1) You always hold down the shutter button half-way to allow the settings to lock before snapping the picture. It should be almost instantaneous after that. 2) If the camera allows a manual focus, you can pre-focus and eliminate that step in the process.

I have the S70 now.. and it's a long shutterlag, that is correct.. but i've taken photos all the day now and it's not a big problem, you get used to it right away.. I can recommend this camera very much! It's just fabulous! I had the Fuji MX-700 and Canon S10 before and this one is soo much better in all aspects.. And the manual focus, aperture/shutter controls are VERY easy to use.. but it's only a few preset focuses to choose from. The camera was bigger than i thought but the quality of most pictures i've taken are just amazing. One thing i miss from the Canon is the infra-red focus assist.. the night shots are very amazing! well.. ask whatever you want to know and i'll tell you ;-)
