You have to bring it to any watch service center, you may not have use it but the battery inside is continously working for years and you found out now that it has stops, you had to bring it to service center to avoid much bigger problem with your watch.

Watch stopped working

The battery is the first thing. You have no way of knowing how long the battery was in that watch before you bought it. Batteries are installed at the manufacturer and the battery might have been old before it was installed, then the watch might have sat in a warehouse for years before you bought it.

mcdevito75 here, One year old, most likely the factory Battery and at 1 year old the battery is old, who knows how long the battery was in the watch before you bought it 1 year ago?? The battery is the first suspect. Look for a small watch repair shop in your area for a new battery first.

I have a timex ironman watch that I bought about 5 years ago and I need to change the battery and I need to know how to get the back off

If there is a small indentation on the back plate, insert a very small screwdriver to pry the plate off. Then you'll find your battery.

If your backplate has 3 indentations, then you'll need a special tool, which sets into all 3 indentations and unscrews the back.

My suggestions to you is to bring it to any jewelers, even department staore jewelers and they have everything there, they'll even change the battery at no extra costs.

I have a Sunbeam Westminster Quartz mantle clock I bought approx 17 yrs ago and after replacing the battery and setting the time again the clock stops after an hour or two. Any ideas of what the problem...

mcdevito75 here, Even a so-called new battery doesn"t really mean it"s NEW!! NEW!! in other words your NEW! battery could have been laying in a store for months before you bought it. Thes ebatteries have a shelf life of a few months, about 1 year with use in a clock / watch.---- Try another battery, also the quartz mechanism could be starting to wear., also double check the battery is installed correctly.

I got new timex iron man with heart rate monitor. Just after 2months indiglo lights don't function anymore. I need it badly for my early dawn workouts

Do not be so upset - any nearest watchmaker will fix it. All you need is a new battery. Visit your nearest watch repair shop and ask for a new battery to fit in. If you not satisfied: find out in my TIPS here for the manual for your watch. Explanation: When you bought the watch, it was in perfect state (allegedly), everything was working and so on. The thing you do NOT know is: battery was fitted in the workshop long ago, maybe a year or few ago before you bought it. That is OK, co'z watch companies do fit a battery at the point of watch leaving company. So, for example, you bought a brand new watch, but it is not working at all. Wind it up. Or, if you are unable to do the things we do, visit TIMEX download page. Save your nerve and watch as well - send it back and ask for replacement. You will find everything in my tips here on FixYa.

How to replaced a eco drive battery

The ECO series of Citizen's do not require battery replacement, as they are solar powered. If the watch stops due to a long period of non-use, there is a procedure in the manual as well as the Citizen website on how to get it running again. You will have to expose it to light for several hours (but not with lots of heat such as a car dash) to get it running. If you continue to have trouble, you may have a problem with the watch. I bought my wife a ladies ECO drive about 8 years ago and bought one for myself about 2 years ago and have not had a bit of problems with either. They are extremely good watches and it is nice not to have to worry about "when will the battery die?"

Replacement watch batteries

When you buy your watch the manufacture puts in a battery that is made to last 5 years so that the watch can sit on the shelf and not need the battery changed before you have even bought it. Batteries you buy from a store or a watchrepair usually last about 1.5 years. Sometimes you can find a watchmaker who carries the five year batteries, but most people don't want to pay the $25-$30 to have it installed so most places won't carry them for rear they will never sell.I would also tell you NOT to buy your batteries from a grocery store or a Wallgreens type place because those batteries could have been sitting there for months, or even over a year. If you go to a watch repair they go through so many batteries that almost evey time you are getting a fresh battery.
