Your monitor will need to be connected first to your CPU via audio cable. Then you can adjust the volume.

hi
plz check your pin which goes to cpu.if there is any bent pin then correct it but be careful if the pin brokes then you have to replace the whole thing.
Otherwise you have to show your monitor to a qualified professional

Eventually I found a workaraound.
Unlike normal mode, When in Graphics mode, the monitor does not start buzzing.

A point I forgot to mention is that hitting the monitor makes the noicse go away, but after a few minutes it slowly creeps back!

How do you hook up sound from surface rt to acer monitor 2014

To connect anything to the speakers on your acer monitor you need to use an audio patch cable that has 1/8 inch or mini headphone jacks on each end. Like this one.
5mm Male to Male Stereo Audio Cable...

You connect one end to the headphone jack on your Surface RT and the other to the audio in jack on the monitor. Make sure the power is on for the monitor and that the volume on both is a third or half way up and you should be able to hear the sound.
This is for the monitors user manual.

When we plug in hubby's remote headphones (he has a hearing impediment), it cuts off the sound and I can't hear it.

That is normal operating mode when using the headphone jack. The only way for you to do this without cutting the sound from the speaker so you can hear the sound (if your remote headphone has the Line level input), is to use the audio line out (WHITE and RED RCA jacks) to feed the remote headphone unit.
What the make and model of the remote Headphone system that you have?

AM not able to power off the screen with the buttons underneath the monitor... , actually non of my buttons are working... what could be wrong? i have an Acer X 193w

The buttons are a part of a small eletronics board inside the monitor. this board is usually not very big. It sounds like this board may be defective. Check the Acer website to see if you product is under warranty. If not, you may be able to replace this board yourself.

The problem I am having is there is no sound coming from the speakers in my acer al1716 monitor. The problem began when my computer-illiterate father decided to go around deleting things because he though...

The monitor does not need driver for the speakers to work. It sounds like you did reinstalled the soudn card driver correctly since you can now hear the sound through the headphone jack on the computer. You shoud verify that the audio cable between the PC (AUDIO LINE OUT, GREEN MINIPHONE JACK) and the AUDIO LINE IN on the monitor (Green monitpohne jack) is connected properly, if it does, then you hsould use another sound source such as MP3 player to feed the monitor to see if the amplifiers and speakers in the monitors are working OK.

No sound when headphones cabel is into laptop

If you are using Windows Vista, the solution might be that you have to go into your control settings, and set your headphones as your default speakers. This is a one-time deal, and once you do it once, then your computer should auto detect when you are using them after this.

No audio

Hi

Pls check if the audio settings on the monitor are correct. Along with the monitor menu button, there will be another button for audio for some models. For other models the audio option will be available in the menu button itself.

Pls check with another set of powered speakers and not headphones.

Also check for the drivers and any driver updates for your sound card.

Hope this helps fix your problem.
