Purchased a craftsman wireless keyless entry pad 53684. The opener has a red smart button. The remote and keyless won't work together. Only one will work. Do we have the wrong entry pad

I have a craftsman garage door opener, of which I tried to program a new remote. but it did not program. in the event I accidently errased my keypad password. How can I reprogram the keypad, i cannot...

Hello there,
It actually depends on what you are trying to program. And these instructions apply only to openers that do not have dip switches on them.
Remotes: push don't hold the colored learn code button all models have different colors. After pushing the button hold the remote behind your back and push it three times. On the third time the door should run.
Keyless Entry: Program the code you want into the keyless. Push the colored learn code button and then enter the code and push enter three times slowly. on the third time the door should run.
Home-Link. Hold the two outer buttons until the blinking pattern changes. Then hold the button you wish to program and point and click your remote at it. Push the colored learn code button and push the homelink button three times.
There are two models of the Wireless Keyless Entry System, the 740CB and the 940CB. The 940CB is for use only with Security+® garage door openers having an orange/red smart/learn button. The 740CB will work with all openers manufactured since 1990 that have a yellow, white, gray, or green smart/learn button. It will not work with Security+® openers.
To program the keyless entry, first locate the smart/learn button. On our chain drive models, this button is on the end farthest from the door. On our belt and screw drive models, it is on the right side as you face the door from the opener. You simply press and release the smart/learn button. You now have 30 seconds to enter your four digit PIN number into the keypad and hold the enter button for five seconds. Wait one minute and test the keyless entry by entering your four-digit PIN number and pressing enter.
With some Security+® models, you can also program your Model 940CB Wireless Keyless Entry without climbing a ladder, right from your Multi-Function Control Panel. Simply enter your pre-selected code and press and hold the enter button on your Keyless Entry. Then press and hold the light button and the pushbutton on your Multi-Function Control Panel. The garage door opener lights will flash to confirm that the Keyless Entry has been successfully programmed.
Hope this helped you solve the problem. All the best my dear friend. Elect_Comp

I have a lift Master Security +, 1/2HP garage door opener. Will the Craftsman 53684 Wireless entry keypad work with it?

Without a model number no one can tell.

Try this:

Locate the smart/learn button on the rear of the motor unit near where all those white wires go. Press and immediately release this and then walk over to the keypad and key in any 4 digit code you like and press enter.

How do you reset your code on the outside touch pad for garage door when you dont no the 4 digit code from previous owner

Get all the remotes together.
On the end of the GDO (where the wires are) is a "Smart" button.
Press and hold the smart button for 10 seconds (until the LED goes off). This will clear the memory.

Now press and release the smart button, take one of the remotes and press one of the buttons (usually the top, largest one). The light should flash on & off.
Perform this same procedure for all other remotes. Also do the same with the keyless entry. Always press the buttons slowly on the keyless entry. It is easy to mispress a button.

Have a new craftsman garage door opener and a new chamberlain keyless entry pad. i cannot get the keyless entry pad to work

As you may know by now there are keypads and then there are keypads. They must be made to work together as there are some that are not compatible. Posting your model numbers might help a little.

Can't reprogram/operate keyless entry pad for Craftsman Model 139.53661SRT3 garage door opener.

If the following instructions don't work and you have a good battery the keypad has failed.

Locate the smart/learn button on the rear of the motor unit near where all those white wires go. Press and immediately release this and then walk over to your keypad and key in your 4 digit code and press enter.

My Craftsman 53684 keyless won't work with my Craftsman 53930DM.

I've never seen the first set of steps you mention. You always need to press the "learn" button first so the opener will be in the mode to capture the new code. As far as I know it is not necessary to hold the Enter button on the keypad (at least I never have). While the "learn" LED is lit on the opener, just key in the new code and press Enter.

Maybe you should try clearing the receiver first by pressing the "learn" button and holding it until the LED either goes out or starts flashing (depends on model). Then try reprogramming. Maybe the little computer is confused.

Sears craftsman keyless entry for model 139.53684

If I am correct, there is a green button on the opener. Hold that down until it stop blinki ng. Once it has, pres the opener. It should read the code and work the next time you hit the opener remote.
If not, sorry. This has worked for me
