This sounds like a serious internal malfunction ,,im sorry i dont know your model exactly,,i dont think you actually need to " heat the chip" they do function at no to low temperatures.you describe really a ram memory malfunction which may need just changeing ,sounds like a curious problem.
good luck anyhow

Why does this Acer A3_A30 keep "thermal critical shutdown"- every time I do a jigsaw.surely the tablet shouldn't tablet get so hot

what is its ambient temp is it working in daily
temps are way higher inside the casing
if the internal fan has stopped
it will over heat the chips

you can by tablet cooling pads same as laptops

try a cool towel form freezer to rest it on and see if the tablet shuts down

Display has lines and flickers. Better if the display is opened or tilted on its hinge ( has funky tablet hinge)

Press firmly down with your thumb on the laptop base just above the F4 / F5 keys, if the display improves while doing this it is simply a loose connection which is common for tablet pc's. If this does not help, then it is either a short in the connection or worse case an issue with what is called the inverter. In any case this is an issue that requires opening up your laptop to fix. If you are not comfortable doing this sort of work call up your local computer repair shop, I recommend a personal business over a corporate one, as you will receive better customer service and more likely than not if it is a simple cable connection issue small businesses will take a few minutes out of their day to fix it on the spot and charge you far less.

Hi i have hp 1410, it seems that its working, but nothing appear on the screen.

Hi Thanks for your question.
I'm afraid your laptop developed well known for tx series laptops issue. It looks like your GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) has gone bad. Check HP website and see if your laptop is under extended warranty (HP issued some extensions of warranty on faulty series of laptops) If this is not a case you'll need to see a professional and possibly replace the motherboard. I'm sorry. This may put some light on your problem ------->http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Hardware/Tablet-PC-tx2000-display-and-wireless-problems/m-p/46834
Good Luck to you.

How do I enable presentation mode on an XT2 tablet? I am in a meeting connecting a Dell Tablet XT2 to a Panasonic projector via vga cable and trying to use Fn8 to display the laptop screen. The setting...

You could be able to enable presentation mode by pressing the "settings" button on the bootom of your display, next to the power button and the "ctrl" and the rotate button. After you press that, your dell control point manager should pop up and then go to the tablet tab on the left and open it. after that, go to the display tab and you should see an option that allows you to turn your presentation mode on.

My HP Pavilion tx1210us Tablet PC just comes on wen i press the power button and cuts off' it stays on for approx 1 sec. what could be the problem....

Sounds like a video problem with the GBA (grid Ball array) The HP pavilion tx series are notorious for this problem. The solder on the bottom of the video circuit crystalizes from the heat (these laptops run hot) and then it doesnt make a good connection. You have to reflow the solder (usually means taking apart or sending to a shop). But I found a quick and easy fix for them, I fixed about a dozen already like this in my shop (I own one too) Turn on laptop..then wrap it in 2 thick towels so it will get hot..sounds crazy, but it works..leave in towels running for about 30 or 40 minutes, then unwrap the laptop, power it off and restart it..bet it works!!!

Blank screen after power is on

the best way to ensure the computer boots up is to connect it to an external computer through the vga port.

If there is image, the problem is a bronken screen, if not, it is a motherboard malfunction.

The sollution for both? Talking to HP or your vendor to replace the notebook.

As for data recovery, I wouldn't advise to remove the hard drive since vendors or HP consider it warranty violation

Lenovo ThinkPad X41 Tablet security chip. lost bios boot password

I have had to retrieve the BIOS password from one of these before. It is not an easy thing to get to. You have to first
  • Build a special 9-pin Serial cable using parts you can find at Radio Shack
  • Dismantle the laptop
  • find the correct BIOS chip,
  • Solder a couple wires to the correct pins of the BIOS chip (without getting solder on the other pins, or damaging something)
  • Hook it up to another computer via serial port
  • Do a dump of the information stored on the BIOS chip
  • Use a hex-reader to decipher the information and display the password within.
Here is a link to a site that shows you in detail how to accomplish this. It does work, and I've successfully used the linked method to unlock a X41 of my own.
