My oven is a MOV130s. It won't heat after giving me a message telling me to clean the cooling fan. I can't get the message to repeat, now it only says "U60 cooling fan" in a black box abv. the time display. the Use and care book doesn't explain what is needed. How do I resolve the issue and get the oven to work again

SOURCE: Display reads U60 Cooling Fan - oven won't heat

The code is telling you that the oven has sensed a fault in the coling fan circuit of the upper oven. Dacor has had a few problems with the cooling fans in these new ovens since theyve been out, so most likely you will have a bad fan motor. If that is the case, be prepared to have the repair person have to pull the oven out of the wall to get to it and change it. If its a realy board problem (less likely) than that can be changed from the front. Call up Dacor and find an authorized servicer in your area since it will still be under warranty. Good Luck!

Simpson Harmony Nova electric oven heating problems (oven heats but no fan and light)

The Fan has ,in most cases, two functions - to maintain the oven temp and to clear any condensate or smoke coming from items being cooked. If your oven is over heating it could be the thermostat sensor faulty and giving a faulty reading to the fan. If you set you oven at 350F then sensors control the heat by kicking the heating elements off and in some models and makes the fan aids cool down. Make sure it is at a temperature that would trigger the fan to cool it down. It mostly relies on the regulation of the heating elements to control the temp. Only if it were to get hotter than the elements kicking off can control should the fan kick on. Not being at the site and actually seeing the stove it is hard to determine but if the fan is working every where else it should work when the oven is heating. Again check and see if there is a seperate sensor that monitors the temp of the over and triggers the fan. Not much help but that's where I would look first. Hope this was of some help.

One of the relay boards is a downdraft relay board....I would be suspecting the main clock assembly as it is the one that shuts down and controls everything. This might also increase the fan speed randomly, turn it on at random temperatures etc., You have to get a new board. You can find it here

Frigidaire oven won't heat past 355

Contact a professional to have the unit diagnosed for repairs. Sounds like the heating elements are either faulty or the main control board won't allow the unit to heat up correctly.

Oven heat varies

When you say it goes up and down by itself, what is the neon doing on the front panel. Is this switching off and on in relation to the oven heating and cooling? If it is, then it could be the thermostat sensor is dirty/covered in grease etc and giving false readings and will need a carful clean. With a fan oven, the fan should keep running, it is the element that the thermostat controls. If the neon stays on but the temperature varies, it could be a fault with the wiring. Does the fan keep running?

My oven stopped heating, and the range element won't turn red when you turn it on but it does have some heat coming from it. What's wrong with it?

When using the oven the electicity tripped; after resetting the breaker the oven does not appear to get hot; however the grill works, the light works and the fan works what could be the problem?

Sounds like the oven element has gone. When these elements go they often short against the outside casing of the element which is earthed (or should be). This trips the main trip switch in the house. Having tripped and cooled down, the element is now broken inside & won't heat up. Usually 2 screws to remove, either inside oven or outside at back. Element usually taken out thro oven. Take it & cooker info to your dealer & ask for replacement. Shouldn't cost much.

Ge oven turns off by itself, and sometimes gives

F2 Oven temp exceeds 590 w/ unlocked door High resistance or interference in oven temperature sensor. Replace oven temperature sensor F2
Note: Also see fan thermal switches Indicates that oven is over temperature in one of the following modes within either a cooking or clean mode of operation.
· Control senses oven temperature above 650 degrees F with the door circuit in the unlock mode.
· Control senses oven temperature above 935 degrees F with the door in the locked mode.
· Stalled cooling fan or airflow problem. · Look for welded relay contacts. (Heating elements on in off mode).
· Look for open thermal switch in lock motor circuit. Switch is normally closed and will open if area overheats due to fan not operating. Look for cause - fan thermal switch not closing, fan stalled, etc.
· Look for high resistance in the oven temperature sensor circuit due to high contact resistance (poor terminal crimp, deformed terminals, loose connection) or intermittent solder joint on control or intermittent oven temperature sensor.
· Look for electrical noise interference in the oven temperature sensor circuit (Ham radio, cordless phone, etc.).
