Hi Tekki, I received a M-audio mobile pre USB pre-amp with audio interface as a gift several years ago. The numbers on the sticker on the back of the unit read thus; PID/Ver 200F Firmware: V1.03 Date: 02-2005 Recently I had my computer up-graded. My hard drive was cloned. But when I attempted to use my pre amp, the computer could not find it. I attempted to download new drivers to no avail. The computer simply does not recognize the existence of the hardware. I have searched my home to try and find the original box the unit came in, but found only the owners manual and no installation disk. Obviously I cannot use the unit if the comp. doesn't recognize it. What do I do now? Thanks in advance for your help. Madeleine S. St. Paul, Minnesota

SOURCE: M-Audio Pre USB

I guess your output is leaking and you are recording it again to the track.
Try recording with lower output volume. :)

Tr-nr616 will not power up what do you think it might be like 20+ years ago i had onkyo amp and pre amp it was a fuse but

Hi Kevin, I am sorry that you are having an issue. Please try removing all of your speakers and unplugging the receiver for at least on hour. Plug in and turn on. If the receiver does not power up it would need to be serviced. Thank you, Onkyo USA

Using turntable (audio technica at-lp 120) with built in pre amp the sound is distorted and broken up. the turntable requests phono turned on to use. Does the receiver have a pre amp or boost signal...

A turn table produces sound voltage in the millivolt range. If you have it connected to a receiver that has a phono input and the turn table is pre-amplified, you are overdriving the receiver and it is clipping the audio and making it sound bad.

My dvd won't get too long to work. if it's getting hot, it gets very choppy.

Hi, I'm afraid it is time for a new D.V.D. player. Having owned several pre-owned dvd players many years ago with identical problem I can tell you that a video chip is going bad ( this can be confirmed by removing the cover and you will more than likely be able to feel the heat radiating up from the square video processing chip ). It may still work for quite some time as an audio cd player though. I hope this was useful, please comment back if so and thank you for asking FixYa. Good luck, Prodzilla

Can I connect a turntable to my Sony mhc nx3av system which I got 12/13 years ago and it is great. Will it be accessed via the MD option? And must I get a turntable with a pre-amp? Thanks in...

YES, you can not only connect a turntable but also a VCR or DVD player or other analog audio sources using either of the top two RCA INPUT jacks on your unit. Now, for a turntable, you will need to buy a pre-amp because typically a turntable provides too low a signal level for most components to handle. These pre-amps cost $35 and up. Most turntables do not provide a pre-amp. Usually an amplifier or receiver will contain the pre-amp and have PHONO inputs specifically for a turntable. So you are correct, you need a pre-amp of some kind. Be sure to select the inputs on your Sony where you connected the turntable when you want to play records. Hope this helps.

Mobilepre usb and windows vista are non-compatible

There should be a Vista driver available for your device at the M-Audio support website.

M-Audio USB

U need an external phantom power supply, they run about $19.99, or you can get a different interface which has phantom power onboard, the cheapest one would be the m-audio mobile pre usb but that would not work on vista 64 bit... best bet is to get external power....

Cannot record

Im having the same probz, got a Hp Pavilion Vista using mobile pre amp usb when i record using a condenser mic XLR nothing is picked up from the channels in Cubase or Nuendo. Im trying to record vocals but the Mic is not picked up and i cannot hear myself in the headphones and it wont transfere to cubase.

It has worked before when i had a desktop, but this only worked with a separate m-audio sound card inside the desktop and i plug in the output jax leads from the desktop (soundcard) to the m-audio usb pre amp

Is this why it is not working for the laptop do i need a Jax connection and where is this audacity

Pre amps

IF your amp has a phono input, you need nothing special. If all you have is aux inputs or an extra tape input, you need a phono pre-amp that will increase the signal level to that of a cd player or tape player. These are simple pre-amps that cost around $20.
