I have a portable air conditioner model LP0711WNR. My issue is when I drain the air conditioner, it only drains about one cup of water. Then, when I turn it back on it and use it, after about an hour it says that the tank is full. I can hear water still in it but it won't drain out and my air conditioner won't work because of it. How can I get the tank to fully drain?

The easiest way, is to tilt it over slightly when you drain it. But, be very careful doing this, as the unit has caster wheels and you don't want it to get away from you. If you have a helper, so much the better. Remember to always turn the unit OFF & Unplug it, before draining the water from the tank.

I hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

We have a lg portable air conditionare that seems tobe working ok except it has quit producing any water.Should we be concerned?

As long as there is water in the upper tank to cool the coils, it shouldn't be a problem. If the unit does not produce enough water to fill the lower tank in a week from now, you should start being concerned.

Water leaking out of frigidaire portable air conditioner at left back bottom corner? Model FAPO94P172 or FAP094P172??

First, have you drained the tank recently. If not, the warning light or auto shutoff failed and the tank may be overflowing. Worse case scenario is the that the tank is dirty and is not allowing the coils to cool and the dripping water you see is from the cooling coils. Since the tank is not removable, it's very difficult, at best to clean the tank.

If you drain the tank and before reinserting the drain plug, try to get about 1/2 teaspoon of bleach in the drain hole. followed by 2 cups of water. Of course you'll have to use a funnel of sort to do this. Reinstall the drain plug and move the unit around so the water and bleach will slosh around. Then run the unit until the bucket is near full again and drain it thoroughly. Look at the color of water draining out, for an indication that there is dirty water. That will be a good indication, that some cleaning of the tank has taken place.

Hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

I have a P2 error on my LG air conditioner. How do i drain the water out. TY

I think what you're seeing is actually a E2 error code. Which is "Sensor protection, to avoid occurrence of unit damage, auto-stop protection." In simple terms, one of the senors in the unit is failing or has failed and it has shut the unit OFF. If it was warning you that the bucket was full, it would show FL.

To find out more about the Sensor Protection, call LG Customer Support (800) 243-0000.

Danby DPAC9008 portable airconditioner: Direct Drain plugs at bottom of unit; no drain nearby. What to do? Is using a bucket the only solution available for this unit?

Your model should have come with a plastic, low sided drain pan, that comfortably fitted under the drain hole. Any low sided plastic container will work. It must have the capacity to hold at least 1& 1/2 cups of water or more.

Hope this helped you.

How can I fix a odor problem

Odors from air conditioners are usually caused by a dirty air intake filter or from mold buildup in the drain pan.

The filter situation is easy to solve. If you have a washable filter, remove it and wash it in warm soapy (dish washing liquid) , thoroughly rinse it and allow it to totally dry, before reinstalling it. .

The drain pan is not removable, but does have a drain plug on the back of unit on the left, next to the cord keeper. Put a plastic bowl that has sides low enough to fit under the drain plug and remove the plug for the water to drain. Once it has, tilt the unit sightly forward and place 1/2 tea spoon of bleach in the hole. Continue to hold the unit in a tilted position and add 1/4 cup of water. Reinstall the drain plug snugly and lower the back of the unit to the floor. Allow the solution to soak for 15 minutes and then drain the solution, just like you did before. Then pour in a 1/4 cup of clear water and slosh it around a bit. Then drain it again.

All of the above should clear up the odor problem. Please let me know. Thanks.

Top tray not draining

I called the service tech, before Maytag stopped supporting this unit. (built by Fedders with Maytag name). Fedders has gone out of business (7-09). The tech guy said that the tray gets clogged up with crud and the solution is to try to flush the tray out with water and compressed air. I had the problem of water leaking from the trays but not properly draining through the drain hose. This solution did the trick.

I have a used Maytag portable a/c, model #SMPEB08F2A. It has a little hole at the bottom left in the back which may be a drain but I don't know how to drain the water out. How and where do you drain the...

the drain is generally the midway in the back below the coil, there may or may no be an internal hose connected from the blower housing or evaporator coil housing, they are drained by gravity and the unit pitched to the outside should accomplish that if the drainage path is not clogged
