Misplaced manual. How do I enter new phone number in directory?

It will dial whatever you have entered --- if a 1 is needed
at the keypad, a 1 is needed to be stored in the directory
listing of the number.

I use the "10-10-987" service and have entered those
numbers into the directory entries, 'works fine.

Try adding your voice mail access number into the directory of the KX TG2770. You will need to enter the number separately for the base and the handset or copy it from the base to the handset. On the base, press Conf/Edit. Then navigate (up/down arrows) to Save Directory. Once in this submenu, you'll be able to add a name and phone number.

Then to call the access number, go to the directory list and locate the name/number and call it.

(Other phones have a voice mail waiting icon and let you program that number outside of the directory. These also check if you have voice mail waiting for the line that they are connected to. This phone doesn't seem to have that ability.)

Using the Call Log or Directories
You can make a call with the call log or directories as follows:
Outgoing Call Log
Incoming Call Log

System Speed Dialing Directory
Personal Speed Dialing Directory
Calling with a call log or directory
While on-hook
>Press Left or Right
until desired log/
directory appears.
>Press ENTER.
>Press Up or Down until
desired item appears.

To cancel or exit, press cancel or exit.
Clearing the log information
>While confirming the log information
>Press Up or Down until

Storing the caller's information for the Personal Speed Dialing Directory

I don't know the settings for this phone, but every new phone does display the information of the sim cards number, you need to get to "show own number" and here you have three options, the very first one is the one that shows you the number. If you have another phone that you know it better, try it with that other phone.

To program the personal directory Its diferent to program the system directory. the personal has 8 number capaciti and the system has 999 number. To program the System directory
1.- Enter to PBX program mode from your station 101
2.- Choose program 001 to enter the quick dial numbers
3.- Choose program 002 to enter (Or change ) the Labels

First you have to push the PROG button on the phone (Its located by the REDIAL button.) Then you push the round SELECT button located by the on and off buttons. After you do this you simply use the number pad to enter the name in which you wish to store in your directory. If you mess up you can go back by using the volume - button.(also known as the CID button) When you have finished typing the name hit the round SELECT button. Now you are ready to enter the persons telephone number. When you have finished hit the SELECT button once more and you have finished storing it. To see the number in which you have just stored hit the DIR button, also know as the volume + button.  

I assume you have the manual. I found it very difficult to follow, very poor. While "on hook" enter the number you want to call. Press "store" or "enter". Enter the name referring to the graphics chart on pages 7 & 8. It is set up for Alpha characters and it depends on which software is installed on your phone. Example: If you want the letter "A" you press the number 2 one time. If you want the number "2", you have press "2" seven times to display the number 2. Use the toggle key to move to the next letter or number you want to enter. When you have finished press "Store". It may take awhile but that's how its done. Not a very good system for the average consumer in my opinion. But that's how its done. I was unable to upload the manual.
