HP A6519FH Black Screen Issue: I was using the TV 27' as a monitor for 1 year and it has a black screen with blinking dash (-) when I turn on the computer. I was able to run the diagnostic test (F10) and everything is passed 100%. Could you please let me know what's caused a problem?

F11 HDD reload the OS, if PC is 2006 or newer from HP.

SOURCE: hp monitor black screen

Check for the updated drivers as well as your video card, if you have an internal video card and have tested it (your computer) on another monitor it is more than likely the inverter in the monitor the coils (on the mainboard) need to be resoldered more than likely.
Check the backlight as well

Correct, it will take you to that screen if you don't have it set to boot from the CD drive first, as it is booting from the hard drive and it cannot boot as there is no system installed yet.
You can go into the BIOS and set the boot order as 1-CD, 2-HD.
When you boot from the CD, watch the svreen for a prompt that says press ENTER to boot from CD.
You can also boot from CD by pressing the F12 key to get into the boot sequence where you can choose to boot from the CD, also keep watch for the press ENTER to boot from CD.
Good luck, and have a pleasent day.

SOURCE: black screen v6000 laptop "HELP Please"

It appears the hard disk has been wiped/formatted and does not have an operating system installed.
You need to get a Windows Vista installation CD and if the Windows label on the bottom of the laptop is still attached then this label has the product installation code.
Boot up with the Windows Vista installation CD to install the Vista operating software then you need to install the Presario device drivers.

You can download the device drivers from the Compaq/HP WEB support/download page. Make sure you select your model laptop and the Windows drivers you require and install them. Click on this link to download the drivers: -

The tv suddenly goes black and the power light blinks red

Hi,

If your LCD TV or monitor has stopped working, or is displaying one of the following symptoms, then it's a candidate for some new capacitors
- Flickering screen
- Screen image disappears after several seconds
- Dim screen
- Slow start
- Power LED on, but no picture
- Unusual colors and/or lines
The primary cause of LCD TV and monitor failure is caused by faulty capacitors. You can examine the capacitors in your LCD TV or monitor and actually see if they are bad.
If they appear bulged on top, then they need to be replaced.
New capacitors will solve a host of problems in LCD monitors and TV's and will extend the life of your monitor or TV by several years.
Check the cables, connectors and connections.
Take it to a repair shop.
