Hi Barbara, I have an easy fix for you. Pull the winding knob half way out and then you can twist it to set the desired date. Here is a website for you with instructions if you need. The watch should have only one stem on the side, if this is so, you pull the stem all the way out two clicks to set time, but you pull it out only one click to set day and date, at one click you turn one way for date and other way for date, to use indiglo you push stem in. If your watch has more than one stem please notify me. I hope this helps!

There are two crown positions on this timepiece. The furthest out, or second position, sets the analog time hands. The first crown position in one direction sets the day, and in the other sets the date. To access the first crown position, pull the crown out very slowly until you feel a "click" or pull the crown out all the way and push it in slowly until you feel a "click" with your fingers.

To set the watch:

1) Pull the crown to the second position and bring the hour and minute hand to the 12:00 position, if it switches the day and date after moving past, you are then in AM time.

2) Set the time appropriately to AM/PM. Use http://www.time.gov/ for the most accurate time.

3) Put the crown in the first click position. Set the Date and Day appropriately, having determined the AM/PM time setting. This will ensure that the day/date change at 12:00 midnight instead of 12:00 noon.

mcdevito75 here, The stem (crown) on your timex shou;d have 2 positions, this allows you to set the date without haveing to turn the hands around so many times. Place a fingernail just under the crown (winder knob) and lift to it"s first position, it may take some practice so if you don"t get it the first time keep trying, Once you lift the crown to it:"s first position you shoulsd be able to set the date, set the date a day before the date you need, Now, push the stem back in all the way, now pull out the stem and set the date and time you want, you"ll have to go around the 24 hours once to set the correct date and time. Hope this helps. If you can"t do this adjustment, see a small watch repair shop in your area.
