Have a Turboair TAS-24H, and when it reaches set temp, the inside unit shuts down, but the condensing unit continues to run. Have to shut the power at the breaker to shut down the compressor.

Could be either a bad thermostat, the wiring from the thermostat to the compressor is damaged or the circuit breaker compressor contacts have fused themselves together. If you know where the compressor contacts are, shut off the power and have a look at the condition of the contacts (if you are not getting any other error codes from the unit) If they look burnt it's time to replace them. I have a suspicion that some contacts can be brought back into service by cleaning up the copper contacts but the common course of action is to replace them.

WHEN YOU TURN UNIT OFF THE FAN SHUTS OFF BUT THE COMPRESSER STAYS ON

Need to diagnose by opening the cover to the control section and check power (24volts) where the thermostat wires connect. Check for power between terminals C and R, it should have 24 volts. Check for power between C and Y, it should be 0 volts. If there is voltage from C to Y, the thermostat is calling for cooling. If the voltage from C to Y is zero and compressor still running, the compressor contactor may still be energyzed, check for power to the coil of the compressor contactor, it should be 0 volts, if there is voltage there, the wiring has shorted and need to locate the fault. If the voltage is 0 volts, the compressor contactor is stuck or the contacts are welded together shut and needs replacing.
Some electrical skill level needed to work on live wiring, safety precautions taken. If you may, disconnect the power to the unit and inspect the compressor contactor, exercise it, the plunger should move in and out freely, a cover small contacts cover can be removed for visual inspection of the contacts, welded, burnt, stuck shut are some conditions that can be found with the compressor contactor.

Sub Zero 650S 3 Shutting Down/Tripping

Hi,

According to your information you gave you either have an extended circuit (electrical) or a short/weak connection in the unit. If you can get to the outlet for the unit, try another outlet (different circuit would be better) this would rule out the electrical issue, either the unit or the power supply to the unit could be the issue. If you can you might want to call a subzero tech to look at this. This units main power supply into the unit is located in front on the freezer compressor, if you have a dark or blackened molex connection you would have a short there. Try the relocation of power first and see were the issue can be isolated to supply or unit.

Good luck

It may cause it to shut down if it's a safety thing, but it sounds like the compressor's faulty to me.

Dehumidifer runs for about 45sec to 1minute and then shuts off. wqhat would be making this happen

If it does that consistently, then it's likely that the compressor is overheating and shutting down. (It has a thermal overload circuit to prevent a potential fire). Another cause could be a malfunction of the control circuit board which runs all functions of the unit. To check for possible compressor problem, unplug the unit, remove the housing to expose the compressor, plug it back in and power it up. When it shuts down, feel the compressor. It should be warm to the touch, but definitely not so hot that it singes your fingers.

If you find that the compressor is just normal warm, then the control circuit board is shot and needs to be replaced. Check with the merchant or manufacturer for availability & cost. If prohibitive, you're better off simply replacing that unit with a new one.

Compressor fan and compressor not running new 2 yr old system puron

No power to outside unit. Check to see if contactor on outside unit is pulled in. Most AC units inside have float switch. When the drain stops up it shuts off outside unit. Located in overflow or underneath unit. No Problem Rusty
