If your dehumidifier is freezing up then that actually means the unit itself is working well, and you probably just have the machine turned up too high for the current conditions.

Try turning down the setting on the unit so that it cycles on and off every few hours and does not run continuously.

Also try using some warm soapy water to clean off any dust or oily residue from the cooling coils in the rear of the unit. Remember to also clean the air intake filter while you are at it.

The ambient temperature in the room may also be a bit too low, so you can try adding some heat to the room if necessary. A dehumidifier will not work properly if the ambient air temperature is too low. Basically, the warmer and more humid the room is, the better they work. Since warm air rises, you can even try lifting the unit higher up off the cold floor onto a bench or table where the air is warmer.

What is causing ice build up on the coil bottom left? Whirlpool model AD50GEUSW dehumidifier?

Ice buildup is most often caused by low freon. Is the unit 10 years old or more? Might need a recharge. Turn it off and let it thaw then back on. If it ices up again, it likely needs a recharge.

How do I reset the dehumifier "set humidity" back to 35. It's on 90 now.

To reset the electronics of the dehumidifier, turn the OB/OFF Switch to OFF and unplug the unit for 10 minutes. After the time has elapsed, plug the unit in and turn the ON/OFF Switch to ON. During that time out, the electronics should have reset and reverted back to the original factory settings. From there you can set them as you like.

I hope this helped you & thanks for choosing FixYa.

Dehumifier blows out my electrical switch in my electrical panel.

You definitely have an electrical short in the unit and should stop using immediately. Have it checked out by a licensed electrician. It is a very real fire hazzard.

Looking a for a 1 speed motor to a Sear/ Kenmore Dehumifier

Yes... You will need "all" of the information off of the old motor. The more detailed you can be the easier it is to find a replacement.
Now you need to find a supply house that will sell to a homeowner. If you buy it through a contractor or repair facility you may be possibly paying way to much....
Good luck......
