I have a GE washing top load washing machine, and it has filled up, but won't switch to the next cycle. I have attempted the troubleshooting suggestions from the manual, with no luck. Right now, the tub is full, but the machine just won't move to the next cyle, to agitate, rinse or spin. I have tried different settings with no luck. Maytag washer dryer stack unit , model # lse7806ace washer fills with water but won't agitate or do anything else. I had the same problem a year ago and replace the lid switch asssemby and fuse and it worked fine until now. the switch clicks when I open and close the lid and the pink and orange wires show continuity with the lid closed.

elain, do you have a model number? How old is the washer? On some of the newer model GE top loaders they put a safety time-out on the inverter board. If the lid is left open for over 5 minutes the washer will stop. In order to wake it up again, you have to unplug it for 1 minute, plug it back in and lift the lid 5 times. I'm not sure if this is your problem without knowing the model number or age of the washer...Catriver
