SOURCE: Clean Oven Door Glass

It is much more complicated than that. There are usually more screws once you take out the first 5. There are a total of 3 panes of glass inside the door. If you are very careful to note how the door comes apart once you've removed the screws, then you will be able to do this yourself. Just be aware that this is going to be more complicated than it looks. Lay the door on your counter or floor with the outside of the door up. Take out all the screws around the outer egde of the door. Lift by the handle and turn the top half of the door over so the handle side is on your counter. You will see 2 panes of glass held by the same bracket on each side. You only need to take one of the brackets off and remove both pieces of glass. Now you can clean the inner most piece of glass. Then clean the 2 you removed and put them back. Now reasssemble the door in the reverse steps. Make sure that all insulation and seals are back in place.

First, determine what this gook is. If it is grayish, it is ash and can be removed with a rag and plain water. You'll always find ash as a byproduct of the cleaning. If it seems to be oven grease and is located in the gasket or gasket area ONLY, get some WD 40 and spray it on the gunk. Let it loosen up and remove it with a rag. You may need multiple applications. If possible, follow up with a soap solution to remove as much of the WD 40 residue as possible. Note, this may cause some smoking when the oven is next cleaned. Be sure to ventilate the area well while using this or any other solvent. Do not use the solvent on glass, it may discolor when heated. Use a standard glass blue liquid glass cleaner or water. If the glass won't clean easily, you may use a WET mild abrasive pad or steel wool VERY gently...so as not to scratch the glass. Follow up with a dampened rag. Anything you leave on the glass will be baked on...so make it clean! You may also use this procedure in the gasket area on the porcelain. Porcelain is a glass-based paint. It should not be scratched. Be patient.
Be aware that if you take door apart that the door is counter balanced. Removing a significant amount of weight by taking off pieces of the assembly may cause it to slam closed. Each of the two thicknesses of glass are mounted separately. Usually, there are some kind of clips holding the glass. Note that there is often fragile insulation inside the door. Avoid touching it or breathing in any dust it may emit. You may need a second pair of hands to align the door front and the bolt holes when re-assembling.
In the future, do not wait too long between cleanings. Use a rag to remove heavy spillage as soon as you find it, don't wait for a cleaning cycle. If your oven is very dirty, use a 3 hour setting or longer to finish the job if you have goo left in your oven after the cycle.

I JUST WANT TO REMOVE THE OVEN DOOR TO CLEAN THE INTERIOR SURFACE OF THE DOOR GLASS

If you mean between the inner and outer panes of glass; you will regret it. It's likely that both are mounted with a fragile heat-proof mineral (non-asbestos) gasket material that may crumble once the panes expose it.

Clean glass range door

Hello. I recommend a product called Cameo. Cameo is a non abrasive cleanser actually designed for the new type enameled sinks recomended by American Standard. AND iit works great on oven door glass. You can get it at Walmart. Very inexpensive and works great on all kinds of surfaces that may be hard to clean but you don't want a harsh cleaner that might damage the surface or scratch. Has a very light to almost none scent. Very good for cleaning the oven both inside and out. Doesn't have the chemical smell left by some cleaners that can be intensified by heat.

Interior oven light won't shut off.

Hi, i would check the pressure switch and its connection as well. either the switch is malfunctioning or the wires and connectors are corroded. simply replacing the wires or switch will fix this issue. the switch is usually located on the rim of the inside of the oven door. it will make contact with the oven door and as the oven door closes, the pressure switch is depressed inwards, thus, opening the circuit and cutting power to the light.

Please rate and god bless:)
