Reach DSL authentication dropping

We have come to a brick wall trying to resolve an issue with Zhone Reach DSL product. The modem & DSLAM never lose link- but authentication drops! The non-Reach DSL modems, which authenticate on the same server, do NOT drop athentication.

We have tried everything we can think of. Checked & verified cable pairs. Tried going to an IP Dslam instead of an ATM Dslam- same results.

Has anyone run into this? Or, can you shoot us some ideas to try?

Thanks

My router is constantly dropping its Internet connection

Contact AT&T, Looks like a signal or modem issue. They have a way to test from their end to your modem.

Internet signal keeps dropping

There's a lot of possiblities here.If you have a DSL/dialtone lineshare, listen for noise on the line(humming, crackling static, dropped calls). If you have a dry loop(DSL only),connect a phone in place of the modem and see if it has an "intercept" message(like "you have tried to call a number out of your service area" or something like that). If it does, you can use a phone to check the line when the DSL drops(don'touforget to put an inline filter on it).If the DSL light doesn't go out when the Internet light does,it is NOT a problem with the physical line. This would be an issue with the modem or the equipment at the serving end.( I am a DSL tech, and spend lots of wasted time diagnosing and trying to fix problems that are beyond my reach(central office server issue) or that I didn't need a dispatch for(it is cheaper to send a new modem than to send a tech).

Cannot connect to internet with dsl modem model 8012u

Make sure that the DSL light of your modem is on. Because if not, even if you have the correct modem sey up still it will not communicate with your DSLAM. There should be an active connection to make it work. So better contact your ISP or internet provider for that.

What to do if dsl light is blinking

This likely means that your DSL modem is not trained up with the DSLAM. - Geek talk for your modem is not connected to the phone company's equipment properly.

1.) Remove power from the modem

2.) Remove all devices (including the DSL modem) from all phone jacks in the house.

3.) Add the DSL line back to the wall jack, taking care to plug the wall jack into the correct jack on the DSL line. (Do not use a DSL filter on your modem!)

4.) Power up the modem/

Still not working? Continue...

5.) Try a different phone jack

6.) Try a new phone cable between the wall jack and modem

7.) Call the phone company for further assistance.

Have at&t dsl, no home phone, moved down the street had everything transfer, hook up modem have red light on dsl, after dealing with at&t they sent me new modem hook up last night still same...

If you can try the modem on a KNOWN working DSL line, then do so! What you want to do is confirm that the problem is, or isn't with the modem itself. Also, if you have access to a good, working DSL modem, that would help resolve the issue.
BTW - DSL modems are fairly cheap, you can pick one up at Best Buy.
From there, if the modem is bad.... you'll have to replace it. If it's a DSL issue, AT&T will have to resolve the issue with your line.

Keeps losing the internet and it just got so slow

Have a look at this link:
http://www.epinions.com/review/Westell_Wirespeed_LiteLine_ADSL_Modem_NAT_Router_Ext_Ethernet_USB_AutoSense_with_Filter_Kit_B9961001002/content_420669853316
Usually slow or dropped connections occur when the modem is having difficulty communicating with the DSLAM in the exchange. This is usually due to line 'noise'. If your line has external noises they will interfere with the data and cause corruption therefore dropping the line or slowing valid data transmission. Check that all devices connected to your phone line have filters, phones, faxes, back to base alarms etc.

Can not connect to PPPOE DSL

Is there a reason why the Sonicwall needs to do the PPPOE auth? You should be able to let the modem do the PPPOE connection and have the Sonicwall behind it. The Sonic wall will get a private IP address. Andy
