Hi!
The recovery partition of you Ideapad Y550 was deleted when you reinstalled OS. You can call lenovo and ask if there is a disc that can reinstall the machine back to its original factory settings that can restore the One key recovery function of your Ideapad Y550.

Lenovo ideapad z500 hardisk partitioning and resize without losing okr

You can use partition softwares to partition the drive.
eg: Minitool Partition Wizard Home Edition(its free)

Partition WizardWindows PC and Server Disk Partition Management Software

Or,if you have the original Win 8 cd and product key,you can re-install Win 8 and during the process partition the hard disk. But doing this may result in losing all your data.

WINDOWS 8 PREVIEW INSTALLED ON LENOVO IDEAPAD AND IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY SO TRYED TO RECOVER TO WINDOWS 7 BUT NOT WROKING!!!!

You will need a separate recovery disk. Sounds like the recovery partition of your HDD got overwritten. Maybe you can create a windows WinPE (microsoft docs) and use that. This says what to do once you have a recovery disk.

Want to restore previous "Windows.old"

you deleted the partition C that the windows old folder was on, you may try a windows restore, however....the files can be retrieved they are still there, you need YODOT HARD DRIVE RECOVERY PROGRAM to scour the old partition that was there previously and restore the folders that you wish to recover onto a new area of the new partition. PLEASE NOTE THE MORE YOU FORMAT OR CREATE AND DELETE NEW PARTITIONS ON YOUR OWN THE MORE THE RECOVERY SOFTWARE WILL FIND IT HARD TO RETRIEVE OLD FILES, SO BEST NOT TO TRY ANY MORE ATTEMPTS ON TRYING TO RECOVER THE LOST ARCHIVE YOURSELF LET YODOT RECOVERY DO IT FOR YOU FIRST. IdeaPad S10-3 Laptop - 064738U - Black cant find recavery

Welcome to Fixya

The computer has its own recovery software installed inside the harddrive. If you want to resoter the computer back to factory default, all you need to do is to trigger the recovery partition. Turn off the computer then press the One key button sitting beside the power button. This will take you to the recovery partition. Select one key recovery then click restore from initial back up.

Hi Nishant,
I saw you post about the One Key Recovery on your S10-3 system and I would like to Help.
You mentioned that you have an S10-3 system and that it has Windows7 on it and that you want to install Windows XP on it.
I guess that can be possible as long as you do not delete / format the partition where the One Key Recovery is located your One Key Recovery can still be utilized once you may need to set the system back to factory defaults, the Partition where the One Key Recovery will sometimes be name Lenovo Recovery Partition and cannot be seen in windows since it is a hidden partition only seen when doing an installation of windows using a retail Windows Installation cd.
Just to add about the OKR or One Key Recovery once you downgrade to XP and you use the One Key Recovery it will restore the system back to factory defaults then windows7 will be the operating system again on your s10-3

>I chose not to charge you for rhis since this is more of a suggestion than a resolution... i would like to know what happened after trying this, i would greatly appreciate your comment on this, thanks!

I bought hp laptop pre-installed with windows 7. There are partition as C(200gp) and D(25gb).Now i need more partition of size 100gb so i need to reinstall windows 7.They didnot provide windows 7 CD. how...

Usually, pre-loaded hp laptops have an utility to create (only once) recovery disks. U will need a few high quality DVDs or up to 20 CDs. The laptop must be connected to AC power during this process. The how-to is in Ur documentation that came with the laptop (probably in some pdf document). Usually, the procedure to create set of recovery discs is as follows (maybe it changes according to model): 1. Select Start > All Programs > Recovery Manager > Recovery Manager. Recovery Manager Opens. 2. Click Advanced Options. 3. Click Recovery disc creation, and then click Next. 4. Follow the on-screen instructions.
Pls, send the laptop exact model, so I'll be able to verify this procedure.
BTW, did U considered use of some partition manager to resize the partition?
