It could be that your unit is defective and may need to be replaced but here is some information for you to check out from the user guide:

1) Callers cannot hear me, or I cannot hear caller/dialing tone.
The headset is not turned on or the headset is not connected to mobile phone. Press the call control button for 2 seconds until you hear a beep or see the indicator light glow blue to turn headset on.
Your headset is out of range. Move the headset closer to the phone or Bluetooth device.
Your headset battery is drained. Charge your battery using the AC power adapter supplied.
The listening volume is too low. Press the volume key up (toward the earloop) to increase the sound heard in the headset.

Good luck from Headsets Direct!

I have a samsung gusto sch-u365 and i want to pair it with the plantronics 240

In case you have never paired your headset to another phone before, just by turning it on, it should enter the pairing mode, denoted by its indicator light flashing alternately in red and blue. Otherwise, i.e. if it was paired to another phone before, press and hold the call control button until its indicator light flashes alternately in red and blue. Then, on your phone, press the left softkey and go to 'Menu > Settings > Bluetooth > Add New Device'. After a little while, your headset should appear on-screen. Using the directional key, select your headset and press 'Pair'. If a pairing code (or PIN, or passkey) is requested, enter '0000' (four zeros, without the quotes). If the pairing process is successful, your headset should enter the standby mode (blue light flashing every few seconds). There might be an indication on your phone screen that a bluetooth device is connected as well.

Hope it works for you.

By the way, in case any (or both) your headset and/or phone user guides happen to be missing, feel free to download them from here (headset) and/or here (phone).

Anyway, please, let me know if you need further informations.

Best regards,
Carlos

My bluetooth is paired i can not hear out of it

t sounds like the phone and headset may not be paired up correctly.
First, remember that newer phones are like small computers, so they
may become corrupt over time and you may need to reset them every so
often. Simply turn your phone off and remove the battery for a few
seconds, then replace the battery and turn it back on. Purge from the
phone any pairing information for your Explorer 240 headset and pair
it again to your phone, following carefully the instructions on the
attached link for the Plantronics Explorer 240. Also, make sure there
isn't any other bluetooth interference.

Following directions for plantronics 240 and for samsung dart to pair, the phone scans but has found other phones in the bldg. I've tried most recently and the picker list comes up with nothing -- no...

I would suggest taking the battery out of the phone for a few moments, then try pairing the headset and phone again at a location where there are no other Bluetooth devices in range for your phone to pick up on.

I have a plantronics 240 that I want to pair up with a samsung dart, but it want to pair up with other phones and not the ear piece

You want to make sure that other bluetooth devices are not interfering with the connection, and it sounds like that is what's happening.

Check the phone manual for instructions on how to do it then remove the phone battery, if possible, for a few seconds and reconnect (resets the phone). Then re-pair the headset to the phone following the instructions on the this link for the Plantronics Explorer 240.

My plantronic 220 explorer blue tooth will not pair with my LG 240 phone, need help

Try to put it in pairing mode, prior to pairing it with your phone. To do it, begin with it turned off. Then, if it is the first time it is being paired, just by turning it on (i.e. by pressing and holding the call button for some 2 seconds), it should enter the pairing mode. Otherwise, keep holding the call button past the time required to turn it on (for some 8 seconds), until its indicator light is flashing in red and blue, thus indicating it is in pairing mode. Either way within the next 2 minutes, make your phone's bluetooth application search for new devices. After a little while, your headset should appear on-screen. Select it and make it connect. If a pairing code (or passkey, or PIN) is requested, enter '0000' (four zeros). If the pairing process is successful, your headset should enter the stand-by mode.

By the way, if its user guide happens to be missing, feel free to download it from this location.

Please, let me know if I can help you any further.

CAN I CONNECT A THIS TO A LAPTOP? IF I CAN HOW?

You can use the Plantronics Explorer 240 on your computer if your computer has Bluetooth built in. Just turn on the Bluetooth feature in the computer and pair up the headset. You can get a USB Bluetooth adapter if your pc doesn't have Bluetooth built in, then just pair the headset to the adapter. Here is a link for the 230 / 240 user guide, it will have the pairing instructions for the Explorer 240.
