MY WIFE LOVES HER 2008 CHRYSLER SEBRING CONVERTIBLE (RETRACTABLE) BUT THE TRUNK LID IS TOO HEAVY FOR HER TO HANDLE. SO WHEN SHE GOES SHOPING SHE HAS TO USE MY FORD 500 SP SHE CAN STORE THE PURCHASES IN THE TRUNK. IS THERE AN ACESESSORY THAT WOUL OPEN AND CLO SE TRUNK MECHANICALLY? WHEN WE BOUGHT THE SEBRING I HAD A HANDLE INSTALLED ON THE INSIDE OF THE TRUNK SO SHE COULD PULL TH TRUNK LID DOWN, BUT SHE STILL HAS NOT GOT THE STRENGTH TO LIFT OR CLOSE THE TRUNK LID. 2008 Chrysler Sebring. The hardtop goes down, the trunk closes, but it will not complete the cycle, and says top not complete, what could be wrong, it goes up perfectly.

Is there a fuse that controls the trunk actuator, if so , where is it located?

Hello. There is a yellow button that 'energizes' the release solenoid of your trunk/decklid on your car. That button should be either in the glove box or on the shift console. It does have a 10 amp fuse somewhere in the fuse box. Good luck and keep me informed; if you want to.

I have 2008 sebring convertable. i push button to put top down. it stops halfway i then have to push button again to have top fully retract into trunk but then trunk lid won't go down.

I suggest you get one of those m anuals from www.reliable-store.com they can help you in this

Chrysler Sebring 2008 convertible top malfunction message

As long as the trunk is open, It won't work. The top has it's own computer. Have the codes read. Takes a scanner. These have like 20 sensors and switches for the top and trunk. You can try to close the latch on the trunk with a screwdriver to get it to work. Another thing is there is a cover that pulls out . This has to be pulled out and latched in place. This will keep it from working also.

My 2008 Chrysler Sebring Limited convertible has a problem with the trunk latch. It won't stay closed. It keeps unlatching. Do you know what the problem is? How do I get it to stop unlatching?

I did this to my car once. Be sure the latch isn't closed as you are trying to close the trunk. With the trunk open pop the trunk once, then see if the trunk latches properly.

2002 Chrysler Sebring Convertible - Trunk lid will not stay open

All gas charged supports are not created equal. I recommend using O.E. for this application.
Snow,ice and trapped water make the lid heavier than it should be make sure these are not the issue.

See if the trunk has springs or metal rods that can be adjusted, like a garage door spring. Or, if it has gas struts, see if there is a stronger strut for a Sebring with a spoiler on the deck lid. It will be stronger to lift the heavier deck lid.
