*ist D grip problem revisited

With the grip attached and turned on, my camera's autofunction goes off by itself simply with pressure on the body, i.e., you can squeeze the body it the autofocus starts hunting. Went to the camera store, we switched out grips, and it did the same thing. If I turn the grip off, it doesn't happen. Obviously something is wrong with either the grip (design flaw since it happened with other grip) or with the camera. Anyone else have a similar problem?

After waiting for four long weeks I finally picked up my Battery Grip today. It is an almost perfect fit for my hand, but doesn't completely make up for the too-shallow grip on the body. I will check it out tomorrow to see whether it exhibits any of the problems you have mentioned here.

The only thing I've run into with the grip is that my av dial doesn't work with the grip turned on. Its as if its taken over that function. I haven't checked the manual to see if this is normal.

Adjusting throttle cable

Beings you DIDN'T give a YEAR/MAKE/MODEL, I can only give a generic answer.

There should be an adjuster either where the cable goes into the throttle grip, or somewhere along the cable itself, or where the cable attaches to the carb/fuel injection/throttle body.

Ensure there is a LITTLE slack, so the throttle can fully close, and check cable routing to insure the cable doesn't pull and cause unwanted acceleration when the front forks are turned left to right.

Hi Tom, if it your first time operating the Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 USN Lens then this wont be that difficult. To operate the lens, simply attach it to the DSLR body, turning the lens untill it clicks into place. To zoom the lens, turn the grip section of the lens both ways.

Remove the lens and clean the contacts on the camera body and the lens where they meet with a cotton swab lightly dampened with rubbing alcohol. Re-attach the lens and make sure the ring (if you have one) is set to "A".

This is an old post but if you haven't found your solution yet here is the solution.
The Fuji FinePix S2 Pro uses two sets of batteries one set located in the camera body grip and another set in the battery grip itself. If you are experiencing the problem you are then the batteries in the camera body are dead and need replacement. here is a diagram. Replacing the batteries in the camera body require removing the grip.

AV error whn pentax ist DL & Quantaray zoom lens attached

I've got the same problem. The problem is that the lense is loosely attached to the body. What you need to do is that when you see the Av flashing, press the lense of the camera to the body and twist the lense to the left a bit. This tightens the connection. You can then take the photo.

*ist D Grip problem

i have yet to recieve the b-grip for my *ist so i can't tell you if i have the same problem. i do have a thought on the matter and an interest in the fix as i have a grip on order. have either or both of you upgraded to firmware 1.1? that is not listed as something the firmware update remedies. however, i understand that manufacturers often include fixes for less conspicious problems without listing them. if you haven't upgraded it's worth a shot, you have nothing to loose as long as you use FRESH batteries. hope i helped. have fun shooting.
