For reference, here is a link to the installation guide:

Under Step 11, you will see that if you change the switch position of the second switch (of 4) internal to the lock to the ON position, it will enable auto-lock of the door 30 seconds after unlock.
Hope this helps!

Need to reverse bolt

Called "handing" the lock (left-hand or right hand door hinges):
Remove the battery pack. Keep the door open.Hold down the "Lock" button on the exterior keypad and at the same time, insert the battery pack into the interior assembly. Keep holding down the lock button until you hear two beeps, which will take approximately 30 seconds. During that time, the Smartcode mechanism will automatically drive in and out several times to determine proper handing.Done!

There is an excellent installation & programming video where you can watch how to do this, and it also explains the features of the internal slide switches.

I have the kwikset keypad that is supposed to light up and it did for awhile since I've had it for several months and now all of a sudden it won't light up. The batteries are fine and I tried new batt

"My keypad won't light up when door is locked when you push lock won't light up green."

Try this:

To make the keys light up when you want to enter your code, you have to push the lock button on the keypad first. If the keypad light never comes on, open the door and manually lock the interior lock, then press the keypad lock button. The above instructions should then work.

Good luck--and please provide feedback if this helps!

I just install my kwikset finished smart code signiture series touch. But its unlocking when I press the lock button instead of locking. Is there anyway to lock it in the other direction?

You have to take the batteries out then hold down the lock button on the outside of the door and slide the batteries back in wait for a couple seconds..... Let go, push the button on the inside to program your lock code .....enter your lock code and then hit lock button. It should work, coustomer service number is 1-800-327-5652
