SOURCE: 3rd line - no ring tone on one of a 3 set phone system

Yes, as you noticed FEATURE *6 only changes the ring tone on the set...

You have to go into system programming to make this change...

-> First you need to know the extension on the set, you can find this by doing FEATURE *0 and press the Intercom button.
-> Get into programming and you'll see TERMINALS&SETS and enter
-> type in extension that is giving you problems
-> hit next till you see LINE ACCESS and enter
-> the you'll see LINE ASSIGNMENT and enter
-> type in the line 003
-> and press change to APPR&RING
-> hit next and RLS to back out of programming

Computer reboots constantly

You are probably getting a Blue Screen Of Death (BSOD,) but the PC is restarting too fast to read it.
turn it on and after the first re-start, press [F8] about 3 times every 2 seconds, (do NOT just hold it down.)

When successful, the Advanced Boot Options Menu will appear, (if it did not, then you missed it, keep trying.) Using the Arrow-up and Arrow-down keys highlight the option that says :
"Disable Automatic restart on system failure"

This will be valid for only 1 boot, then it will go back to constant looping, (unless you do the above again lol.)

When it BSODs you need to write-down the Stop Error displayed along with any file(s)-named to be causing the error.

A common one is 0x000000D1 Driver IRQ not less than or equal

This is a device driver error....see if you can boot into one of the Safe Mode options on that Advanced boot options menu. If you CAN, then use System Restore to go back to a day BEFORE the problem began. [note: if you have a virus, the problem will likely return.]

GE Portable phone Model 2-9505 P/N 936772 Volume much to low. Need advise as how to increase the volume

Hello,

I believe the ringer volume is low or at minimal or turned off, that's why the ring is very low. Try this; press the arrow (left and right or up and down button) on the phone constantly. This should increase the ring volume if actually it is low. Or, call the phone with another line, while the phone is ringing and press the arrow buttons without picking up the phone, this should increase the volume.

If the above doesn't solve the problem, please let me know so that I may direct you further.

Good luck.

Fax machine not sending documents

A) Run the fax test on the printer itself to see if it's connected properly and has an active phone line.. HP All-in-one printers still make a dial tone sound even if they aren't connected to a phone line. To run the test 1)..Press the SETUP button. Press the down arrow button until "Tools" is highlighted then pres OK. 2) Press down arrow key again and select "Run Fax test" The printer will then print out the results. It will tell you if anything fails. If it does, the correct the problem it mentions. IF everything passes, then the problem is likely your cable phone line which is a "Digital" and Fax machines still use an analog signal. Here is what you can try to overcome the deficiencies in a cable phone system. 1) Set your fax speed to Medium 2) Turn your ECM (Error correction mode) OFF
To set your fax speed, Press the SETUP button again.. Press your down arrow again until you find "Advanced Fax Settings" and the press OK.. arrow down until you find "Fax Speed" and hit OK. Then choose Medium (14,400) and press OK This will take you to your previous menu (Advanced Fax setings).. Find "ECM Choose OK again.. Then choose OFF and press OK. Press the X button on your printer's control panel and then Retry your fax.. Hope this helps

AT&T Model 854 4 line phone, turn off unused line lights

It's a matter of cabling.

Make sure that only the line you wish to use is connected.

If all of the lines are cabled with two to four line cable, then reduce the cabling to a single red/black combination on the one line.
