Maglite 3 D-cell Flashlight -- with D in front of Serial #

Unscrew the top half of the flash light and pull the bulb straight up, and it's out,

Not to mention there's usually a spare bulb in the base of the flashlight under the spring in a piece of foam. unless someone used it already,

Line up the two pins and slide it back into the to pin holes on top and with the bottom of the flashlight back on with battery's try the on off switch and make sure it lights up and not have dead battery's, if it lights up throw away the old led and screw on the top of flashlight,

If it still don't light check for new battery's.

Make sure you cleaned ALL the corrosion out of the battery cell, and also you may have a faulty On/Off button.?The battery contacts must be absolutely clean.That is my best assumption

6D Maglite? As in 6 D cell batteries?

1-1/2 Volts (Each battery), times 6 = 9 Volts.
Using the proper bulb?

The original is a Krypton bulb. (No, I didn't make the name up)

Guess what happens if you put a 3 Volt bulb with 9 Volts?

Before replace the bulb, check for rust or dirt inside the electrical contacts. clean it. if still wont work, replace the bulb.

you can wish them by alcohol.

Twist the front bell off, unscrew the bulb.

You probably have a defective switch, which happens. Maglights are lifetime warranty, so if you go to
http://www.maglite.com/repaircenters.asp and look for a service center, you can mail it in and have it repaired or replaced for free.

With the Positive + side up (towards the bulb) on all 4 D-Cell batteries.

Unscrew the head of the flashlight and take it off. There is a metal ring around the bulb that you have to unscrew to remove the bulb.

Some models of the famous MagLite use this 'feature' as the on-off switch. I have several such myself.
