All of my contacts are currently surname first, how do i change all of my contacts to show first name first, with out opening each contact then changing the file as to first name surname thanks

You could try web-searching the surname and town, or first-name surname which may bring up contacts on social media websites.
If the person is a lost friend then at your request they may 'friend' you.
Otherwise if he or she has lived there awhile the white pages 'phone directory may have the name listed.
If a legal issue, a lawyer / court could get a warrant to trace the person through detectives, corporations, cellphone records, etc.

Add his name or surname if it refuse add both name and surname or if you know the woman who he is cheating him with add his name and surname or your name maybe surname or your kids

your name and surname
your address
your contact phone and e-mail

court name
court address
judge involved (include all honorific after his/her name)

have you done a search to ensure its definitely not there? sometimes depending on what view format you have chosen, contacts may be a long way down the list due to the "file as" setting you selected. "File as" has several default settings such as "surname, christian name" or "Company, surname, christian name" and if you choose different selections for your contacts, then they won't sort in a logical list.

Try to search using the "type a contact to find" box up in the tool bar above your contacts and see if it is actually there. Then check what the "file as" setting is on and change it if its different to your other records.

open contacts,
Click bottom left button
then select more (arrow down)
then click setting
then click order of display names and click last

There is a field called 'display name'. Address book will show the entries however you mention in this field. So, put the proper name in this field and check.

Next select General Options

Then change the "sort by" option to "First Name"

In most phones, there is an 'options' or 'preferences' in the address book that allows you to sort by first name, last name, etc.

As far as Outlook goes, when you are in the contacts tab, there is a link on the left that says "customize current view". Click on this and you can select fields to pick what fields you want displayed or select sort to pick how they are displayed.
