Can't see driver for webcam in lenovo y550 - Computers & Internet

The CMOS battery on the Y550 is considered to be non-replaceable by Lenovo. It is soldered directly to the motherboard itself. You can check out this youtube video on the disassembly of the Y550. At the 14:22 minute mark on the video you can see where this battery is. At the top right of the video you will see a big green INTEL chip (upside down). To the right of the bottom of the Intel chip, you will see a round blue component. This is the battery.

If you were handy with a soldering iron, you could un-solder and replace this battery, but the average consumer would not be able to replace it. Lenovo will most likely require you to purchase a new motherboard.

Hello,the Lenovo Y550 has an integrated Webcam located at the top of the monitor. It should already be installed but if you need the drivers you can here --> http://consumersupport.lenovo.com/ot/en/driversdownloads/Drivers_Show_1759.html

You need to download the software for your webcam. Go to Lenovo Support website download the Easy capture software for the webcam. That should rectify your problem .Thanks

You can press FN + ESC to enable the webcam then check if you will be able to use it.If still not working you can download the driver of your webcam.

actually you just need to download the driver on lenovo website, consumersupport.lenovo.com is the website then type in your Serial number and look for your driver for your web cam

You need to enable the webcam by pressing Fn+Esc or Fn+F10 key combination. Also see if you can find the latest version of drivers on the lenovo support website for Windows 7 or at least Windows Vista. If it still doesnt get detected at least in device manager, try flashing the system BIOS to the latest version available on lenovo support website.

1. remove the battery first by turning the notebook over. unlock and hold the latch, and remove the battery.
2. remove 4 screews on the CPU door and then remove the thermal door. (see picture 1)
3. Pull the two latches securing the memory and pop the memory module up to 45 degree angles, and then pull out the module in that angle (see picture 2)

It seems that your laptop is holding webcam loading problems. Check whether the webcam driver is compatible for the OS which you use.
You can also try re-installing the webcam driver once again. This should do.
