1. It might be possible to reset the receiver by unplugging it for a few minutes.
2. If you have a cable box you might be able to program your cable remote to operate the receiver.
3. As a last resort you can often find a replacement remote on eBay or at one of the many internet sites that sell replacement remotes.
All sources or just one? Make sure the Tape Monitor isn't engaged unless you're using an external tape deck or processor. A turntable will only work on the PHONO input.
Have you noticed if the speakers selector switch in the front panel is set to off ? That position for the switch is only suited to listen heaphones. Good Luck.

Power down, disconnect the speakers and power back up. If it still say's overload, it needs to go to service. If not, check your wires, connections, and speakers one by one to hunt down the problem and correct. Hope this helps
It probably needs soldering of the voltage regulators and/or output IC.
I think that model has an access panel on the bottom (it may need to be cut out then rotated and screwed back on when done).
If it doesn't have the panel the main circuit board needs to be taken out to access them.
The regulators and output IC are mounted on the main heat sink. a little soldering and it should be good as new.
