This sounds like a low water flow situation. The heater is telling you that the high limit sensor is curring heater operation. The noises are the heat exchangers boiling the water either due to a blockage in the exchanger , a bad mixing vlve, or most likely poor water flow. This is tough to troubleshoot through a posting like this, but 1st thing is 1st. Check your water flow and make sure it is minimum 50 Gallons per minute.

I just had a new COZY L.P. GAS CDV336C installed... Every few minutes it makes a loud bang noise...It then makes pinging noises that gradually fade out...This happens 2-4 times every hour. The bang is loud...

Hi Loretta:
I'd contact the installer. This sounds as if there may be a slow leak. When the gas concentration is high enough it will ignite which would be the bang that you hear. The popping sound could be the flame at the leak source point re-igniting for a few times.
DEFINITELY CONTACT YOUR INSTALLER OR GAS INSPECTOR. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD.

Igniter starts to glow for 3-5 sec while making noise every minute or so

Check the thermocouple it is going bad or already has and that is why the gas valve is not staying open.

Raypack 2100 pool heater runs for a couple of minutes then loud banging noise. heater shuts off and error code HL appears

That HL is your high limit shutting the heater down. The banging is the sound of water boiling in the heat exchanger because it is moving too slow. This is almost always the result of the bypass or governor (thermostat) not working properly, so too much water is bypassing the heater. It's not too hard of a fix.

We have a Surburban 10 gallon hot water tank in our RV. Today it started making popping noises. The burner keeps back firing and making loud popping/banging noises.

The burner tube is restricted. Try blowing the tube out with compressed air or cleaning the tube out with a small wire.

Lennox furnace 17 yeanrs old. flame comes on and the shuts down sometimes right away some times in a few minutes. We have the furnace go down to 58 at night. It takes all day to get back to 67.

Sounds like a dirty flame sensor.
Also 9 degrees is a large swing to recover. Most specialist will advise no more than a 5 degree set back, otherwise recovery time eliminates any savings you may achieve.

The heater starts up but then heat shuts off within a couple minutes

i would look a a high limit problem.check for obstruction between heat exchanger and top of unit or plugged heat exchanger.remove top and look straight down and you should see burner flames between heat exch fins. depending on which ignition you have, could also be flame sensor problem.ususally with flame sensor problem burner shuts off within 20 seconds.hope this helps.

Laser 56 code E22 after slight banging noise upon trying to ignit

You have a fuel problem. The ticking sound is the pump starving for fuel. It's either low fuel, no fuel or dirty filters. It's an easy fix.
