No one has been able to give me an answer

Hi there. I have a problem that NO-ONE has been able to assist. It is a very technical problem. Here goes: I get white, broken, horizonal, flashing lines at the top of the tv screen. It only happens in the HD format, [720p or 1080i].--Also it comes and goes! It's very wierd. For example, it will do it during a commercial, and then when another commercial comes on, it will go away. -- What is wrong with my beautiful HD television??-- Thomas K.

My Panasonic plasma does the same thing. There is a line at the top of the picture. It happens on almost every HD channel. It seems like I need a vertical adjustment, but there isn't one on my television. How do I fix this??? It's very frustrating.

I had a 42" wetinghouse and now have a 47" Vizio, both had the same problem. Im not sure it fixes it if you adjust the verticle, it just hides it. I can do that and it will show up in PiP. wierd. My brother had the problem and the line started growing! And it completely ate his screen after awhile. Will and can this happen and wouldnt it be easier and cheaper to just take it back than checking electrolytic caps?Who the hell knows what that is besides you? And the nteinc.com website wants me to join, no thanks and I dont understand it anyway. :/

Sounds like insufficient vertical sweep and the top lines are getting out of control.
Check all the electrolytic caps in the vertical circuit for testing dry (sorry - takes a special meter to do it in circuit) or just replace them. Look the I.C. up in the free NTE crossreference at nteinc.com get a diagram of its pinout to find what pins the power and outputs are on.
Hope ya fix it!

Ft 720r memory

Hi Mike,

Not that I'm aware of, instead of backup battery, your unit has an EEPROM, which is the memory storage facility, and if this fails, then there's your answer, it will need replacement.

If this is the case and you're not technically minded, then take it to a 2-way radio service centre, preferably yaesu authorised, and have them make an assesment and give you a quote re: repairs, otherwise if you know any HAM RADIO operators out there, ask them to assist, it wiould cast far less that way.

I hope I have been of some help to you.

Regards,
Peter

Safety

Hi Charlie, I am going to give you an honest answer as opposed to the technical one, because any lawyer who has never used a tool can tell you for safety you need to stay 12 inches from the blade therefore we will give you a 16 inch stick. The honest answer is that stick is so you can keep all of your fingers in one piece and you should use the stick anytime your fingers or anything else can get close enough to lose em. Common sense should prevail. Oh and by the way, as far as safety goes there should be a giant red arrow on the tabletop so people don't feed wood into a table saw the wrong direction! Good Luck to you, Hope this Fixsya!
