Flat Screen 42 inch Vizio does not respond to the remote, called Vizio tech told me to take out batteries and push every button, replace batteries and try. Worked for 3 minutes then stopped again,Replaced remote with new Vizio remote,same problem works when it wants if at all,called Vizio back instructed me to go to menu and turn off Luma. I did,worked for another 3 minutes and then back to not working? I think the problem is the sensor that reads the remote??

unplug tv remove batteries from remote then put them back in plug in tv and turn on with back reset

Use the tv Vizo remote.Push the P.SIZE or VIEWMODE button on the remote change the picture sizes.

I have the same problem. I just called Vizio and they advised me to take the batteries out and press each button two times, replace the batteries, and try again. When that didn't work, they said they were going to send me a new remote. I told them the universal didn't work either and they said they have to send the factory remote first, if that doesn't work they then have to send out someone to service it. Their support is 1-877-698-4946. Have serial number ready.

Try checking out to see if the remote is putting out the signal using your digital camera, just point the remote at the camera lens, you should see flashing light on the camera screen when you push any button on the remote, if you do get the signal, then you may have bad remote receiver in the TV.

If you haven't tried it yet, pull the AC plug and let it sit overnight. Your set and most later ones do have microprocessors in them that can have 'lockup' problems similar to a resonal computer crashing.
If it still isn't responding to set-mounted or remote controls, you may have hada power supply failure.

Ok take your Vizio remote control go to the Lower section of the buttons and look for the - Zoom + button than decrease the zoom.

You should verify if the remote has failed. Contact the support for Vizio, or ask your dealer where you can buy original replacement accessories.

Change the batteries in your remote. If your cat was laying on a button it could have drained them.

Here's tip - you can use your camera on your cell phone to see the IR signal coming out of your remote. Point the remote at your cam and press "On" or any button. You should see a bright flash with every key stroke.

You can also try to take out the batteries and push all of the buttons with the batteries out of the remote. Then put the batteries back in and push the power button on the remote. If this doesnt work press the two TV buttons at the same time and the remote should be fine.
