Remove old power cord and replace with any power cord with similar connections from Home Depot or Lowes.

  • Anonymous Jul 17, 2011

Yes, take the back off and disconnect the power cord. Take that with you to the store to get one similar. Only the power cord needs replaced.

Power cord teac A1200U

You can try and get one off E bay but I have seen the jack replaced on those with standard IEC types and then you can use any in hand computer type power cable. From being in radio I have hundreds of them- they are used in equipment other than computers.

Teac x-3 belt kit reel to reel

Marrs Communications has belts for a lot of different models. I have bought from Fred Marrs before and his belts are the high end ones not Chinese garbage. That's who I would contact.

I have a teac 3340 reel to reel recorder and believe it can only function in 2 speeds 7 1/2 ips and 15 ips. I have many reel to reel recordings that are 3 3/4 ips. Is there an adapter or gadget I can use...

In short, no. if you look closely you will see the Teac 3340 has a much larger/thicker capstan shaft than other Teac reel decks. This feature allows the faster tape speeds...7 1/2 and 15 ips. In order to slow down the Teac 3340 you would have to change the flywheel to one from another deck that was made to run at 3 3/4 and 7 1/2. Which is possible but some work..plus you would have to find a slower speed flywheel from another Teac deck. Also to maintain performance, the bias and Eq positions for the slower speeds would have to be readjusted from 7 1/2 and 15.

TEAC 2000R SITTING FOR WHILE NOW WILLNOT PLAY

This sounds like the solonoids are not working. This can be a power supply problem, a control problem, or the solonoids themselves. In any case, this will need to see a service shop. Where are you located?
