THE rEFRIGERATOR IS NOT COOLING OR FREEZING AND IT MAKES NOISE WITH THE RELAYS WHERE THEY ARE CLICKING ON AND OFF. dO NOT HEAR A FAN BLOWING OR THE UNIT MAKING COOL AIR.

I did not see a model or brand on your request but i'm going to guess that ist a G E and the clicking rellays are a common noise when the program board has failed . the unit will shut down / as the board controls the compresor and fans / heater //defrost cycles . if more help is needed i need the brand and model # .. hope this helped mm feed back pls and thanks for ysing fix ya .

Blows cold but shuts down no freeze up

Check the capacitor. It should be a dual capacitor , runs both compressor and fan. This sounds like your problem only because both the compressor and the fan go out together. Good Luck Hope I helped

sounds like the relay for the unit may be bad, usually if a blower motor goes it stops or has a very loud humm and only goes slow

The a/c unit cooling fan shuts down shortly after unit kicks on.

If a fan motor quits working during a cycle it usually means that the thermal protector is turning it off. If you had an amp meter on it, you would notice that it is exceeding the listing on the nameplate, Nine times out of ten this is irreversable, the motor needs to be changed. Sometimes if there are oil ports on the motor, you can add a few drops of zoom spout oil and that does the trick. But usually the motor is already damaged. Good luck.

I have a DuoTherm unit on my 1989 Cross Country that only runs in the "low" position and shuts off after about 5 minutes. Won't come back on until about an hour later, then runs for 5 minutes or so...HELP!

Is the unit ducted with a wall mount thermostat? If so, then I would say that you need to check the thermostat. Remove the face plate from the thermostat, there should be 6 or 7 wires, depending on the model. With the thermostat set to high/cool, check for power at the yellow wire and the blue wire. Yellow is the compressor terminal and blue is the high fan. If you have no power at the blue terminal, then you have a bad thermostat. If there is power there, then you need to access the control unit in the air conditioner (remove inner shroud). Check for power at the blue wire at the control unit. If there is power, then you have a bad control unit. The unit is shutting down because it is freezing up in the low fan speed position. You can use a jumper wire on the thermostat to go from the +12 terminal (red wire) to the Hi Fan terminal (blue wire) and also the fan terminal (Either tan or orange, depending on the model). If the fan comes on, then you have a bad thermostat. If not, then you have a bad control unit or the high speed in the fan motor is out.

Hope this helps,

Jeff
