I want to program ComCast's 3 in 1 universal remote to control my Onkyo TX-SR304 receiver in the "AUX" position. ComCast's instructions have me use codes 30135 or 30842. The 1st one will turn the unit on...the second code will turn the unit off, neither will control volume. There must be a code that's out there that will allow ComCast's universal remote to completely control a SR304.
1) Tap AUX
2) Press & Hold Setup (1 then 2 blinks)
3) Enter 30842 or 0842 (The remote should blink twice)
4) Press & Hold Setup (1 then 2 blinks)
5) Enter 994 (2 blinks)
6) Tap Setup (1 blink)
7) Enter "00051" (1 blink per number)
8) Tap Power (not All On, just "power") (The remote should blink twice)
9) Tap AUX
10) Press & Hold Setup (1 then 2 blinks)
11) Enter 30135 or 0135

Unlocking Volume Control For A Single Device (Individual Volume Unlock):
Now, after you select a device that has volume unlocked (e.g., AUX), pressing VOL , VOL-, or MUTE will control the device's volume only in its own mode.
If desired, repeat steps I to 3 (of this section) for each device that you want volume to be unlocked.

Same exact problem.
The codes advised by Comcast fail to control the Onkyo Amp TX-SR304: code 30135 will switch it on, but will not switch it off, same, as far as I can tell with code 30482
Same problem, except code 30135 turns the SR304 on AND controls the volume, while code 30842 only turns it off. Called Comcast: they said that Onkyo corp gives them the codes to use. Called Onkyo: they said they only have codes for their own remotes, and the codes Comcast uses were from them. Unlikely, because of the hundreds of codes needed for all sorts of devices. Maybe Comcast gets an IR pulse code sequence from the mfgrs, and figures out the codes for their remotes from that.

What about an Onkyo TX-SR500 Audio Receiver? I tried the suggested solution to no avail.
