The power cord has a green ground wire; two hot wires, which are black and red; and a white neutral wire. Attach the neutral to the middle connector and the two hot wires to either end of the terminal.
In order to safely ground the machine the green ground wire must be securely connected to the dryer frame. There may be a screw on the frame where you can attach the ground

The power cord has a green ground wire; two hot wires, which are black and red; and a white neutral wire. Attach the neutral to the middle connector and the two hot wires to either end of the terminal. If it doesn't have a terminal strip just remember that the 2 hot wires are black & red. The white to neutrar (power return) and the green wire to chassis.

A.O. Smith 1/4 hp 115v red black blue and white

Not sure what wires you are talking about. Normally on a 115volt motor you will have L1 and L2 and a green ground screw. Black or red goes to L1 and L2 (either one). White goes to either L1 or L2 (either one) and the green ground to the green ground screw. These would be the incoming voltage wires.

Here's some more info diagrams for you http://www.electricmotorwarehouse.com/aosmith/AO_CONNECT.PDF L1 is one hot wire L2 is the other hot wire. L1 can not be connected to a L2 wire and L2 can not be connected to a L1. Ground only to ground.

Where does the neutral hook up go for the pump

Assuming you are connecting the pump for 115V the L1 and L2 terminals in the motor get the black (hot) and white(neutral) leads and the ground goes on the green screw. It does not matter which L post gets hot or neutral as long as one wire goes to each terminal.

I bought a red lion sprinkler pump with an A O Smith 1.5HP electric motor on it. A O Smith model # CET50ABH, serial # 27308J2. I knew I would have to wire it (115/230v capable) and I want to go the 115v...

Your black and white wires go on L1 and L2. It will not matter which wire goes on with line terminal as long as you just put one cord wire on L1 and one on L2. Be sure you properly switch the motor to run on 115V since it will facotry prepped for 230.

John

I am trying to find out how to wire the pump?

Thank you for posting your question here on Fixya.com.

It will not matter which line goes to which post. Just put one to L1 and the other to L2. As for which voltage to set the pump for, you set it to match the voltage present on your lines you are connecting.
