Zire 72 and Outlook 2003 - I think I've tried it all! Doesn't work....

Ok.... so I bought the Zire 72. And I have Outlook 2003. I only have one user name. When I installed the Palm Desktop from the CD I requested that it sync with Outlook. My HotSync worked, but the Outlook sync failed. So I read that you should have PocketMirror® Professional XT 3.1.10. So I bought that for $50. Still didn't work. Then I read you should have VersaMail installed. STILL doesn't work. What am I missing here??

You don't need pocketmirror for zire 72 because palm desktop have outlook conduits to handle outlook synching. inorder for you to sync using outlook you must have the outlook conduits installed which seems you have it already installed. you have to disable some older conduits inorder to avoid conflicts with the conduits. to do these follow these steps: 1. right click on the hotsync manager icon on your system tray 2. click on Custom... 3. select Date Book (Outlook) 4. click on Change... 5. select Do Nothing and set it to default 6. click Ok 7. repeats steps 3-6 for Address Book (Outlook), To Do List (Outlook) and Memo Pad (Outlook)

How to insert a sim card into my Palm Zire 72

No sim card in the Zire 72. On-board memory on the motherboard only to store records not directed to or on expansion memory card.
Zire 72 battery changeout not designed to be user serviceable. Undertake at your peril (unless you are very steady handed, patient, and very very careful). The 72 is probably the most difficult of the Palms to change batteries. Go to: http://forum.brighthand.com
Navigate to the Zire 72 section and read the posts. There are even detailed photos and uTube movies that deal with changing the battery. I have used their forum for years. Lots of help there.

Just bought Zire 31 and won't hot sync Outlook Calendar, Contacts, Notes with the following log:

Generally this error means that HotSync manager (via the 4 Outlook conduits) is having a hard time connecting to your Outlook or, in some cases, specifically to your Oultook profile.

OLERR messages, however all of mine fail to sync: Calendar, Contacts, Tasks, Notes. Tried web troubleshooter to no avail. Can anyone please shed some light on this issue??? Thanks

I was having the same problem, and I used Detect and Repair in Outlook. Now all is working fine. You will need the original CD that you installed from. Hope this helps as none of the other things that I saw on any sites did until I tried this.

Zire 72 Won't Sync Notes

I feel your pain as I'm having even more problems than you, see my post. However, having learned quite a bit about this topic, I suggest ensuring the Hot Sync is set for the desktop to overwrite the PDA as opposed to PDA overwriting the desktop, which sounds like what's happening. That's the only suggestion I have. Hope it works out for you.

Error Message - "Unsupported Repeat Pattern"

I think the message means what it says. You will have to setup these events manually as individuals to get this event to synch. The message is literally telling you that this repitition style is supported by Outlook but not by the Calendar in your handheld. Another way to go might be to use Chapura PocketMirror conduits instead. It may be more forgiving and be able to deal with this event type. This will cost you however to find out.
