The ION IED01 electronic drum kit requires the "brains" module to function properly. The module is responsible for converting the signals from the drum pads and cymbals into MIDI data that can be interpreted by a computer or other device. Without the module, the pads and cymbals will not produce any sound or trigger any MIDI data. Unfortunately, it is not possible to bypass the module and connect the USB cable directly to your laptop. You will need to obtain a replacement module in order to use the drum kit.
To download/transfer files to computer, you need 2 softwares from yamaha website. USB MIDI drivers and MUSICSOFT DOWNLOADER.
Install drivers first, and then Musicsoft Downloader.
Connect keyboard to PC/notebook by USB cable.
Run Musicsoft Downloader.
If you click "Electronic Musical Instrument" in the Musicsoft Downloader display.and then "System Drive", a file named "08PG76BUP" will appear in the lower right corner of the Musicsoft Downloader display. This is the backup file that will transfer to computer.
Usually yamaha came with CD-ROM that contain divers and softwares + user manual,so you don't need to download.
I hope this helps.
Regards.
Are you using the correct format of discs? It requires Standard compact disc (12 cm),
types CD-TEXT, CD-R, CD-RW (CD-R and CD-RW disks must be finalised before using - but even then will not always be accepted)
It will not work with CD+R or CD+RW
If it will not work with ANY CD (including professionally produced CDs) then the lens may need cleaning. Purchase a CD cleaning disk (a computer CD cleaning disk will work fine) pop it in the slot and hit the play button.
You can download the manual here

If you get beyond the 32/64 issue, check the audio setup for your audio device in your windows control panel. If your USB interface both recieves from your guitar and sends audio to your external amp, make sure BOTH the input and output to the USB are listed as the in and out in the "VOICE" tab when you go to the control panel and "Sounds and Audio device properties".:
The Casio support site has a page to download the latest driver and software; once you download it you can install the file (and save to external media): http://support.casio.com/download.php?cid=008&pid=340&rgn=1
