Volume Control? Seems like it should be fairly simple, but I cannot find out how to lower the volume on the rx3715 handheld. This is the reminder alert that is very (too) loud. Was fine until I updated my ROM to the latest version off the website. Any ideas on what I am missing?

Hello, Not the loudspeaker icon next to the time in the top menu bar on the Today screen? (Boy, it's rare to have someone complain these devices are TOO loud.)

Nothing worked for me... UNTIL eureka, I just turned down the handset volume. Apparently, lower volume results in decreased feedback, Seems simple now.

Dont know how to control the volume, i cannot find my manual

Most of the time their are multiple ways to do this.

1. On the speaker in the lower right hand corner left click and a volume bar appears. Slide it up and down. It should be adjust to 75% IMO.

2. On your keys there should be symbols that look like speakers that should match the color of you "fn" key. Press and hold the fn key and then press the corresponding speaker key to increase or decrease the volume.

3. There may be a rotary volume control on the front of the laptop case. It's as simple as turning it to increase or decrease it.

On the volume bar in windows verify that the muted in unchecked.

When the protect lite comes on and the sound cuts out , what is it protecting ? the speakers or itself? thank you.

"Protect" is saving both really - but primarily the amplifier. The protector guards against shorted speaker wires, damaged and mismatched speakers, etc. If the amp is allowed to operate for a long enough time in this condition, permanent damage may result.

Usually, the lower the volume the amp is operated at will allow it to be played longer before the protect indicator comes on again. If played at a high level of volume, the protector will likely activate very quickly. Sometimes, damage to one or more output transistors seems to prevent the balance control from working correctly. You may find that you can only play the right channel at normal volume and the left is significantly softer - or not audible at all. This can be a fairly expensive repair - depending on the number of transistors to be replaced. Some factory service centers offer a flat rate repairs for this indication. Shipping these devices can be fairly costly however.

I hope this helps.

Volume trouble

The top button on the control surface, the one with the green flashing LED, is the volume control. When the unit is "ON" pushing the button up or down raises or lowers the volume, simple. When you connect it to the charger that same green light will turn red while charging. If you push the top button forward (up) at the same time you press the lower button (power) the LED will flash 1-3 times. Three flashes is fully charged and one means it's getting low.

This is a great head set. I just sat on mine and broke the ear piece. I'm looking for another as we speak! It's worth more than it's current retail price by far!!!

I need my volume to be magnify

You need to know what operating system your PC use. This is a simple steps to make more louder the sound in Windows XP system:
  1. Click [Start] menu, choose [Settings] and then click [Control Panel], finally chose [Sounds and Audio Devices]
  2. On tab [Volume] od Sound and Audio Devices Properties, move Device Volume Control slider from "Low" to "High" position.
  3. Click [Apply] at lower right most corner part of the panel
  4. Click [OK]
  5. The volume has become louder
Note: I think, adding a pair of stereo active speaker is the simple way instead of getting more louder sound of the PC's sound card.

Headphone volume?

Unfortunately, I believe this is by design. The knob does not control the volume of the headphone jack on those speakers. The best you can do is set the volume control in Windows so that the headphone volume is acceptable and turn the knob up higher for speaker listening.

Volume Control

First go to www.sandisk.com and download the instructions for this particular mp3 player. I'm guessing it's the SDMX1. Look for this model and get the instructions. They're about 30 plus pages. Volume is adjusted very easily-Look at your SDMX1 with the data screen to your right and headphone plug to the right.
1.find the joystick control-it sticks up and is chrome plated.
2.imagine it is a compass with North-up
3.simply move the joystick North for louder volume and South for lower volume.
4.you can also read the volume numbers on the screen in the right lower quadrant. they go from 1-40. Good luck.
If you ever have headphone problems with sound from only one earphone, let me know. I know how to fix this better than new! Also, if the play-on/off switch becomes hard to operate, this fix is also very simple.
