I need to remove the seat covers from the back seat(base) but cannot find any way of removing or releasing the back seat. It is a 2009 Honda Civic.

1. Open the trunk and locate the seat release levers or buttons. These are typically located at the base of the seat near the bottom of the seatback.
2. Press the seat release lever or button to release the seat from the vehicle.
3. Carefully lift the seat up and out of the vehicle.
4. To remove the seat bottom, pull the seat bottom forward, and then lift it out of the vehicle.
5. To remove the seat back, pull the seat back forward and then lift it out of the vehicle.

Fuel pump is in the top of your fuel tank.
Your fuel tank is under your back seat.
There may be a plate covering the pump access. Remove the screws and remove the plate. You will find the lines and cables entering the tank.

If you don't have a covering plate you have two options:
1. remove the tank from below (Very hard work.)
2. with a sharp chisel cut a hole about 8" in diameter in the very center hub under the seat. Be VERY careful to cut sideways and not straight down. Leave enough material so you can bend it back. Seal it with silicone once the job is done. MUCH MUCH easier than removing the tank.

You should be able to get the back rest off from in the trunk. Take out the trunk lining and find the bolts. The bench may have a couple of visible bolts under the edge of the seat itself but getting the back rest off first should help considerably.

Through the back seat! Easy to do. Remove seat base by pushing back on the seat. Or, 2 bolts may hold it in place. Remove a black rubber grommet/cover, about 6 inches in diameter, and there it will be!

Appears to be external, looks like engine compartment. See diagram here.

In order to replace the fuel pump on that vehicle. Step one would be to disconnect the battery. Step 2 is to remove Rear seat. To do so you must try lifting up in the front of the seat. and pulling twoards the front of the car. If you Look between the bottom seat and the back rest you should see 2 14mm Bolts near where the seat belts are attached, remove these. then remove the rest of the seat.

After the seat is removed you should see a grey or black metal cover, under that cover is your fuel pump, remove the 10mm bolts holding the cover on. then use a flat head screw driver to pry the cover off, Disconnect electrical connectors and fuel lines, then just pull the pump assembly out ( some wiggling and manuevering may be required)

then just reinstall the new pump, reinstall seat and reconnect battery

to remove the fuel pump you need to remove the fuel tank.

only 4 bolts 2 in front 2 in back,,
one of the back bolts on each seats have a cover pop it up and off with a flat head
driver side will have a wire!!! unbolt it and lay it back to unplug wire.

Should look for the bumper shocks and remove which ever is easiest, remove bumper then remove cover , replace cover and reinstall bumper, watch out for wires and clips might hold cover to side plastic.

remove rear seat, remove round metal cover, disconnect fuel lines and wires from top of fuel pump, jack up rear of car. remove gas tank straps, lower gas tank with a jack, install is reverse.....if you need to just replace the fuel pump you don't have to remove tank you Can access from under rear seat good luck and please rate -jeff
