This is a brand new compressor that I have kept in a box for about six years. It was never used. I open the box and took the compressor out of the box. The regulator fell out of the compressor. I have the spring, the knob, and the small plastic black round washer. I cannot get the regulator to adjust properly once it is put into the regulator hole. It will screw in or go in properly.

Look at the underneath side of the knob. Many of these have a square molded into the knob that fits over the square shaped adjusting stem coming out of the regulator. The replacement regulator (if you end up having to replace it) is part #885807 (reference number 30) and is $42.88 Here is the link to the parts breakdown.

After six years my battery is low, so I took my Tissot Touch back to the shop...

When you need frequent re.Syncronizing of your Touch or after 2-3 year
maybe you need to replace the battery.

you need:
a CR1632 3V Battery (about 2€)
a very tiny screw driver
a very sharp knife

With the knife remove the bottom of yout Tissot, (you do not need to unscrew) it's just a cover to pull up like in this imagedcef0c0d.jpg

Now you can clean with a soft brush & remove the dust.
Use the screw drive to replace the battery,
put back the cover & enjoy

Fridge turns on off intermittently

I have had a similar problem where the fridge kept turning on and off. This was because the compressor kept overheating due to lack of fresh air. I took the fridge of the wall, disconnected the power and cleaned the area around the compressor using a vacuum cleaner and a brush. Now the fridge would reach te required temperature without constantly switching on and off.

It sounds a bit high to me but if they do it the way I consider to be the best they will install new compressor and clutch, new seals, newfilter dryer, and complete system flush. It's been a few years since I have bought any of the cleaner but at that time it was $75.00 a gallon. All parts will run in the vicinity of six to seven hundred. With taxes and labor $1400.00 is probably not that far out of line.I hope this helps you some. Thank you.

New motor makes loud noise when operating

Use a food grade grease to lubricate the gears. The newer White Mountain freezers have Chinese made motor drives and are a piece of junk. Don't confuse the newer models with your old American built machines. If it's still under warranty contact the manufacturer for warranty repair. Read the most recent customer reviews for the 4 & 6 quart electric freezers on Amazon and other websites. You will see a rash of motor failures!

Beverage air single door freezer compressor

OH well that's a real easy question to answer.

All the compressor manufacturers have a 1 year replacement warranty (just on the compressor). Any labor freight and mils like driers, freon, cleaner ... items are not covered.
Now you may be able to purchase an extended warranty for up to 5 years total. Some contractors offer their own warranty for extension. But ask yourself how much is it really worth to have ? Extended warranties are an additional cost and is not under the manufacturers warranty. So for the 1st year its the manufacturer anyway and on some manufacturers (Copeland) it is limited to 3 compressors total within the 12 months. So an extended may also be limited withn the 5 years.

And if your loosing compressors from 2 different causes, 1 electrical and 1 mechanical. And if the initial problems were inerrant in the compressors individually, the likely occurrence in the next 5 years is really remote in my opinion. Assuming the coil is kept clean and grease and paper is not allowed to block the condenser air and the defrost doesn't go haywire, and the electrical to the unit is kept within specifications and the replacement compressor was given a new drier clean refrigerant and maybe some acid cleaner.. But to me $700.00 for a whole job on a fractional compressor sounds really, pardon, cheep.

The reason is that if you hve more than 3 failures something else is causing them besides the compressors. (And I contend to agree). I have only had 1 compressor job that kept failing year after year. And the incompient rebuilder (Owens Hermetic OKC) kept rebuilding the same compressor body except for the 3rd time I talked the owner into getting a remanufactured one and that was because I took the old one apart and found the cylender walls scored and therefore the piston and rings were not sealing. And every winter the refrigerant would migrate into the compressor on the first cold day and boom no compressor.

Extended warranties (as far as i know) from an outside warranty company may not be as good as the paper it is written on. in other words I have seen 2 warranty company go belly up within the past 25 years. But not within the past 10.

Hope this helps answer your question. Let em know If I need to tell you more. If I helped you please give me as high a rating as you can. Thank you and good luck.

Amana refrigerator

Sounds like it has either a bad compressor relay or if the brand name of the compressor is Tecumseh, it will need to be retrofit to a more reliable longer lasting Embraco compressor.
