To remove password remove the cmos battery and move the cmos jumper to "clear." Wait a few moments and reinstall battery, put jumper back in normal position and get into the bios. Hopefully your battery in the laptop is accessible. On some units it can be a bear to get to!!!!!!!

during the boot up process you will see on the screen for a short amount of time press a certain key to enter set up press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS scroll down to set user password or supervisor password you can change or remove your password from there

hi you will need to call dell @ 1 800 822 8965 - dell can provide a default password for that. after entering your default password hold down ctrl press enter twice it will disable the password.

there are two ways to remove it
1. Software--a bootable program that will remove the password
2. Hardware--remove the CMOS battery

Sorry, there isn't a way to get past the password other than to contact Lenovo. Resetting the CMOS will do nothing. They will ask for proof of ownership before they do anything. I believe they have a "backdoor" password.
