Hi
Its vertcial output section has the trouble. It is composed of and IC and surrounder components. If the electrolytic capacitors, or IC itself can cause this. Just open the monitor, and access the vertical output section. Look for any buldged or leaky capacitors on that side. Just resolder all the solder terminals of vertial output IC; by applying a little more solder, without making any solder bridge in between adjecent terminals. Loose solerings in circuit may also make this type of fault. If it doesn' help you, just repalce all of the electrolytic capacitors on that side first. There will be 6 or 7 of them. Replace it all at the same time. it won't cost more. If the fault still perists IC is damaged, and should be replaced with same type and number. OK.

There could be number of reasons, the main one being a power issue. There may be one or more bad capacitors on the circuit board. These can be replaced by someone who knows how to repair electronics but since this is a CRT monitor you need to be very careful about the dangerous voltages inside the monitor.
Considering the age of the monitor you are better off spending the money a decent LCD monitor.

Your picture tube has a problem already, when it goes green. Maybe you can try resetting all the settings to default, when you do so and it doesn't get better then its time to change it.

First, connect this monitor to another computer, if you still do not get a Windows image on the Samsung LCD monitor then it is faulty. The fault could be a faulty inverter board that supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp or the fault could be a faulty CCFL lamp.

Hi,
It could be possible that your monitor is not degaussing the screen when you turn it on. Try turning your monitor on and off a few times to degauss the screen. If this does not work, you most likely need a new degaussing coil which is a cheap part and can be bought at any TV spares retailer
