Hello my 2009 Audi q7 is having issues. The door on the drivers side wont unlock with the key, but unlocks with the remote. Inserting the key in the slot works but i am unable to turn it in ether direction. not sure if the door is locked or damaged. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Try getting some graphite and putting it in the door lock. If it unlock with the remore it has to be the key mechanism and not the lock mechanism. If you don't have graphite, then use some lithium grease or as a last choice WD-40 and work the lock, gentley back and forth. This should free up the tumblers, JUST DON'T TRY TO FORCE IT.

If that doesn't work then you will need to replace the lock with one that is keyed for your car.

it is not the actuators, try a different remote, you may have an issue with the car security system/body computer not functioning on the unlock driver door command, one press of remote is unlock driver door and 2 presses is unlock the other doors.

Ok the AUDIS and VWS have micro switches in the door latches and the drivers side may be stuck or shot try unlocking the passenger side with a key. You can also try the driver side with a key. If you can get the doors open them and get your battery disconnected both cables put key in ignition and turn it to the run position the hook your battery back up while the key is still on. That should disable the alarm till you lock the doors again.

sounds like the hard wire attached to the key lock may be off or broken..this happens a lot when a car is "slim jimmed" or used a coat hanger to unlock the door.. or it could be from just normal wear.. the door panel will have to come off the door to be able to look inside and see what is happening.. simple, inexpensive fix for someone with a little mechanical ability

If your vehicle is out of warrenty Audi are also known very well for good will providing the vehicle has been serviced at an Audi dealership. Try replacing the battery in the key as this may have an effect
