Hi.

Be sure that you have checked the thermal fuse. The part is tested using a multimeter set on Ohms (impedance). Remove the fuse from dryer and read impedance touching the fuse contacts with the two multimeter probes. If impedance is Ohm infinity (open), then the fuse is bad.

If the fuse is OK because tested good or replaced, then the problem is either one of the three thermostats located in the heating group, or the heating element. All parts are tested similarly to what described for the thermal fuse. If any of the parts read open (infinity), then the part is faulty. After finding the defective part remove all the lint from heating assembly and air duct. The lint causes overheating and blows thermostats, fuse or element.

Regards.

My Kenmore 400, Mod 110.68432700, Ser MU4103673, Type DWJR-ELE-2406028 trips the breaker at the breaker-box after a few minutes of running (either low or high heat). No problems with the breaker when I...

Standard house boards trip only with two things high load or high earth leakage.
First stop check the plug wiring pay particular attention to the tightness of each terminal. Unplug and check along the incoming cable for breaks, crushes ,traps, etc.

If this fails unplug and have a look at the internal wiring, it can become brittle and touch the outer casing because the insulation is missing, check if any terminals inside are loose as well. Failing all that the heating element will probably be in a poor state and will probably cost more to replace than to buy new.

Where do you find a heating element for a Kenmore Model #110.66662500. Serial: MT0203728 Type: DWJR-ELE-2406028-FM54

Grainger.com is easy or you can look thru the yellow pages for a local appliance repair store, for parts.

It appears the heating element went out on our older Kenmore dryer - Type DWJR ELE 2406028 FM54. mod 110.62622101. Is this an easy fix?

Yes it is fairly easy to replace from the back. First verify it is the element and not the thermal fuse or a loss of one leg of the 240VAC circuit.

Kenmore electric dryer Mod. 100.66662501, type dwjr-ele-2406028-fm54 Dryer blew fuses, so we replaced the fuses. Dryer then ran about 10 minute, was heating fine but then blew the fuses again. Help!

Assuming that the fuses you speak of are the external pair, and not the internal motor or timer resets:

Check the fuse holder for corrosion on the plates. Often the fuse is not properly seated because of this build-up and therefore has an intermittent connection. This will cause the fuse to either heat up, or overload; ultimately failing.

To remedy this, turn OFF the breaker, or main switch if necessary, and fix a wooden dowel with a piece of emery cloth (or sand paper) on the end. Remove any visible black corrosion from the contact plates.
Finish with a spray of WD40 to protect the plates and fuse end.
Replace the fuse, ensuring that it's tight, reinstate power and try again.

Dryer runs no heat

Sounds to me you either blew the fuse or tripped the circuit for the heating element. Try replacing the fuse or resetting the breaker before trying any repairs.

Dryer don't blow hot air, everything else runs ok.

you need to check the heating element and the thermal fuse to see if they are blown.
