Whirlpool tub has jets that circulate the water, where an air bath uses bubbles that rise gently from the bottom of the tub. Whirlpools are typically used for therapy, air baths are used for a much gentler experience. Air baths can be used with aromatherapy/essential oils. Both offer a spa-like experience.

How to clean a whirlpool bath tub

There are three main things to tackle when cleaning a hot tub or whirlpool bath. Those things are:

1. Bacteria
2. Grease
3. Grime and dirt

To address all three of these issues you'll likely need separate products. There are liquid versions of the degreaser and cleaner, and there are tablet versions for sanitizing.

Simply fill up the whirlpool bath with warm water, put the cleaning liquid in the cleaning outlet (or if you don't have this, just pour it into the bath). Put the tablet in the bath and then just run it.

This should do the job.

If you can blow into the tubing and start the motor then you need to replace the air button on the tub.

Push button on my jacuzzi won't start it despite power going to unit

The air button on your tub may be bad and not sending enough air to the air switch located on the bath pump.
The way to check this is to remove the bath pump and see if you can turn the bath pump on by taking a large straw and blowing into the air switch on the bath pump to see if you can get the bath pump to turn on.
If the bath pump comes on then you know you have a bad air button.
If you cannot get the bath pump to turn on then remove the air switch and plug the two wires going to the air switch together and then plugging the pump into a power outlet you know has power.
If the bath pump comes on then you know you need a new air switch in the motor.
If the motor does not come on then you need a new bath pump.

Difference between acrylic and fiberglass

Acrylic is a solid sheet material that is heated and vacuum formed to the desired shape. It is then reinforced at the back with fiberglass to give it strength. It is a higher-end material, very durable and super easy to clean. Fiberglass is a material that adheres to a mold and then a gelcoat finish is sprayed onto it. The most common material used in tubs and showers and is the most economical. Cast iron tubs are forged and the finish is applied in powder form while the tub is hot causing the finish to melt onto the cast iron. Synthetic tubs are molded and then a gelcoat finish is applied like the fiberglass tubs.
