My Fan is somehow loose and gets jammed. I don't see how the fan metal bracket fastens to anything and therefore is sort of floating loose and the blade keeps rubbing up against the plastic housing. How can I get the fan stationary. The fan blade fits Ok on the pin it slides in on.

Fan should not be rubbing up against anything. I don't think the fan is secured properly to the motor shaft. Tighten down the metal clip that holds the fan onto the shaft. Make sure it's not back too far.

Need to replace fan blade. doi just the other blade off or do i need a tool

You should be able to get the fan off w/ a small screwdriver & some needle nose pliers for the metal clamp that holds the fan onto the shaft. Look on Google for suppliers to get a new fan & clamp. It shouldn't be expensive.

How long do Ecoquest purifier plates last?

The "Replace Plate" message comes on for more than just the plate. Is the fan still running when it displays (Replace Plate"? The squeaking noise would be coming from the fan. I don't know what all it works for. It does display when the plate contacts are dirty, when a wire to the plates is loose or corroded, when the bulb is bad or loose and when the ozone generator quits. I have encountered all of those. Plates should last a couple of years, depending what's going on in the indoor environment. Before you go any farther, call (336) 499-2505 - they give away information and will help you solve your specific problem.

I have a squeak in my whispure 510 air purifier.

Spray lubricant onto the fan shaft as close to the fan body as you can. it will work it's way into the bearing

GETTING FAN OFF

Plastic tends to conform to the metal shaft over time, however they will usually come off intact. If there are ears on the retaining clamp, press those together to expand the clamp and remove it from the fan hub, then carefully apply pressure tot he back side of the hub to extract it off shaft.

If you cannot get easy access to it, sometimes gentle rocking of the fan blade from the hub will free it once the clamp is removed.

I forgot how to start my air purifer- there is a flip switch on the bottom of the back with an " I" or an o" -does this make a difference? I don't seem to be getting any power. Also...

As far as oiling the fan motor shaft use a light weight lubricating oil like sewing machine oil. Just a drop or two will do. Olive oil is great for cooking, but to heavy a viscosity to be used for a lubricant. The switch should be in the "O" position.

The plug in the back may have come loose that connects the buttons & lights to the circuit board. Have you ever taken the machine out of the wood carcass? You will need to do so to re-connect the plug.

The Fan on my "Fresh

It could be getting clogged up. The lint screen has GOT to be kept clean or the machines fan will pull dust into the machine and it will cake on everything inside, including the fan(will make more sound while running) and can get into the bearings of the fan causing the problems you mention. It may also be a poor electrical connection. If you have ever OILED the motor...you'll have to clean it. It's not meant to have a lot of oil or grease on it.

Where can I find a replacement fan for ecobox?

You will have to call in for service free if its still under the 1 yr warranty, but i solved it from not spinning by rotating it side by side slightly when the unit is on, and getting the fan to move slightly, then it should run as normal. when i sent it in, it came back in the same condition, so i sorted it out myself.
