Friend had similar problem... Clean filter, added earth, primed pump and sound went away and had great flow... If not, possible impeller problem..

SOURCE: my hayward northstar pump makes a loud noise when

If you have a crack in your basket you may have a clogged impeller. With the power off reach back into the pump through the pump pot with a long screwdriver and feel around. If it feels spongey it there you have a clog. Take the serew driver an use an oceleting motion in a counter clockwise direction this should loosen the clog then reach in with a long set of thin pliers and pull the clog out. This should fix your problem and once water is flowing your pump should quiet down.

Water not pumping from the tank

If the pump is primed, water will come out of the tank when the pump is running. It make take a little time for the tank to fill, but you should hear the pump making some noise. An un-primed pump just makes a motor noise, not very loud.

PT Criuser has been running hot and now makes a loud chirping sound when cranked up . What causes this ?

my guess is your water pump is not working properly and the loud chirping sound is from the serpentine belt which also runs the water pump, alternator, ac and steering pump. first thing to check is coolant the cooling fan , thermostat , water pump in this order. chirping sound definitely come from the belt but the cause could come from any of the driven part but im zeroing in on the water pump because the car is running hot. old belt could also cause the chirping.

Loud drilling noise when coffee switch is turned on - rather than the usual purring noise - and no coffee delivery either

How old is your machine ? and what maintenance have you done over time such as replacing the shower curtain located at the pourring end of the hot water ? I had too very loud noise coming occasionnally from the stainless steel rack holding the cup while coffee is delivered. If your ground coffee is too fine it will stop flow during making a shot. Is water coming out when no coffee is placed in the portafilter. The water pump on this machine is a cheap pump that has to be replaced over time. Mine is 7 years old and has delivered four cups of expresso everyday of the year, and still working.3841c994-fb4b-459f-8d1f-710e0aafc3c0.jpg 2ead4f70-37c6-4236-a9c2-992dba149c4c.jpg

Our goulds pumps j5s is running very loud after we replaced our sewage ejection pump last week. Could these problems be connected?

Those pumps last a long time. I do not think the problems are connected. I am assuming you are pumping water up from the pump. The pump has a check valve in the discharge that may not be closing. Cleaning that should solve your problem. Be sure water will pass through the discharge line into the drain.

We mistakenly ran our 2 year old kitchenaid through a cycle

It's possible. A pump like that should never be run dry, especially if it ran dry for an extended period of time. Does the noise go away as more water moves through the system? If not absent then less?

Well-Rite WR240R makes loud noise every time water flows into it

Tank may be air bound. There is an air valve on top of tank. Take cap off and depress valve momentarily. If water comes out of valve, the bladder is torn, and new tank is needed. If no water comes out, check the pre -charge pressure of tank.
First, run water in house and take note of the on-off pressure of your pump. There should be a water pressure gauge on the water line going into the tank. Take note of the cut on pressure and cut off pressure. Most well systems typically operate at 20-40, 30-50 lbs of pressure. Next, shut off electric to pump. Drain all water from tank. Take a tire gauge and check air pressure of tank. The static or pre-charge pressure should be two lbs less than the cut-on pressure,i.e if your system operates at 30-50, then the pre-charge pressure should be at 28lbs. Adjust pressure as needed. A small air compressor is ideal to use if more pressure is needed.

Hazard light is flashing

It sounds like your pump bearings have gone, a new pump or pump head will be required, you may have a sealed system and a small leak may have dropped system pressure, causing the pump to run dry and damaged or seized bearings, if you have an older system with a filler tank in loft, the ball valve may have stuck in closed position and the water level has dropped in system. Venting the radiators on iether system can cause problems if there is not an adequate level of water.

I have a Saeco Armonia Espresso Machine. The water pump was running when the tank ran out of water and when I refilled the tank, it wouldn't start again. I unpugged it and turned everything off overnight....

Common on Armonia...
There is no water in the system, so the pump is pumping air!!
you have to push on the usual button but make sure the hot water button (for tea for ex) on the right side (same as steam opening valve) of the machine is open. This will allow the water to re-flow through the system. Once water is coming out again, close hose, and stop water button. Once hose is closed, and you repush the water button, it will flow again through the coffee hole.

When car is running and fan comes on

Sonds like the fan to me. Yes, those are available separately. Water pump is internal inside of the timing cover and those are pretty bullet proof. Fan is most likely NG. Not that common. I have replaced only 1 in 12 years with Nissan.
