The door is jammed on my LG Intellowasher WD-1023C-Washing Machine - Front loader. It has finished it's wash cycle, but the door won't open

If the washing machine malfunctions or you need to stop the cycle and retrieve the clothing, you can force the door to unlock.

• Open the door after the "Door Lock" indicator turns off. ...
• Press the "On/Off" button, if the washer is not already on.
• Select the "Spin Speed" button to turn on the Drain & Speed cycle.

Normally this is a bad door switch

If it won't unlock when powered down for a couple of minutes you will have to unplug the machine and then remove the top lid. you will then be able to access the rear of the door lock and pull the locking switch back to allow the door to be opened.

The machine knows it dint't finish the washing cycle, and, because it may be possible that water is still a lot inside, the door is locked.
If you are shure the door can be opened without the water coming out by the door, simply disconnect it from the electrical supply and wait a few minutes until the door unlocks. (you will hear the unlock click)

The water pump can be blocked and thus stop the machine from finishing the wash cycle. In front on the bottom there is as hatch that can be opened with a flat screwdriver, the small black rubber pipe can be used to first drain all the water before the opening the filter. Small objects such as coins coluld be found in here, blocking the pump. Clean the pump by removing these, optionally blowing into the outlet (yuck!), to dislodge anything. If that does not help to fix the problem, you can clean that actual water pump, but this requires you to use a screwdriver to remove the pump.

Tilt the machine on its side, the pump is attached with 3 self-tapping screws. (if you can't figure out what the pump is you should probably let a technician do this). The pump has 2 parts to it, take it apart carefully and clean out all the dirt that has accumulated in there. Plastic friendly, waterproof grease can be applied to the pump spindle and bearing if available.

If the problem still persists a new pump is available from LG at a reasonable cost.

If you've waited the normal time for the interlock to allow the door to open and it's still locked, the interlock switch itself is probably faulty. Tricky job. Best to find a repair technician........Nomess

It sounds like you have a faulty interlock. This is what locks the door during the wash cycle.Sometimes they won't unlock and need to be replaced. There may be a pull tab inside the pump access area at floor level to get door open....Not a big job for a tech......Nomess

FOR ANY REASON THE WASHER MACHINE DIDNT FINISH ITS CYCLE!!! AND IT IS A SAFETY THAT IF DOESNT FINISH ITS CYCLE THE DOOR WONT OPEN!!!!

I HAD ONE LIKE THAT AND I BROKE IT APART!! AND I SAW THE WATER PUMP WAS THE PROBLEM SO I CHANGED IT AND PUT IT BACK TOGETHER AND LET FINISH ITS CYCLE AND OPEN THE DOOR!!! AND STILLS RUNNING!!!

it could be that your machine has been child locked, look in yor manual it will tell you how to fix it, this happened to me , hope this heps you good luck
